Wycliffe: Benefits of Bible translation

This is part 3 of a 4-part series from Phil Prior of Wycliffe UK, a fine organization whose mission is to bring the word of God to everyone one, in every language.

While Wycliffe’s aim is to translate scripture it would be wrong to suggest that this is the only benefit to a community from the translation process.

The work undertaken as part of Bible translation also results in community benefits. Governments are able to communicate important messages to groups in a way that they won’t have been able to do before, children receive a better education in the language that they speak at home as well as the gospel becoming clearly understood by the local community.

Wycliffe USA has produced a number of films dealing with Literacy

Cultural Preservation

Trauma Healing

Spiritual Transformation

which will give you a better understanding of the wider issues.
