Ur, whatcha doing?

Sorry for the puns. Anyway, British archeologists have found evidence of the city of Ur, mentioned in the lineage of the biblical Abraham. Now, unlike some, these are real archeologists, but they are not social memory critics and the like.

British archaeologists have unearthed a giant complex near the ancient city of Ur in southern Iraq.

The area is believed to have been home to Abraham, father of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

As the find is 4,000 years old, roughly the same age as Abraham himself, it raises the tantalising possibility of a direct link with one of history’s most significant religious figures.

Love that the papers are running this as Abraham’s home… but anyway. It is always good to see real archeologists doing real archeology based on evidences and facts.
