Thanks to Rodney and Diglot for taking up this issue after some other blogger has taken it upon himself to control other aspect of life. I think Nick is a legalist and has set himself up as a Constantine. If Nick values Tradition Unquestioned so much, then he should be a Catholic or an Orthodox (who by the way, are more open to fellowship than Nick is).
My take?
And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. (1Co 2:1-2 NAU)
First – humility. Second, that we share the common belief that Jesus Christ was crucified.
Christ. Crucified. Resurrected. Humility.
I will share begin to share fellowship with Christians who recognize the crucifixion of Christ. We can go then as far as we can go with our other views. As I didn’t see any other requirements in Scripture to begin fellowship, I’ll let it stay there.
Fellowship is by the Spirit and I hope that I am led by the Spirit to be with my Christian brothers and sisters even if we disagree over a few simple things.
