The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. (Psalms 87:2 NKJV)
A recent spat of comments have led me to ask a question:
Why do so many consider the Church something separate from the nation of Israel and Israel as the thing to be prized and protected above all others?
And if certain of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, was grafted in among them and became a fellow-partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive trees; (Romans 11:17 CTV-NT)
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. (Ephesians 2:14-18 NKJV)
As well as,
Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. (Galatians 3:7 NKJV)
So many, like John Hagee, teaches that Israel should be preferred above all, even the Church it seems, yet Paul was clear, we are Israel, the Gentiles grafted into the wold olive tree – the Church and Israel is one and the same.
Unless I am mistaken, as where the Church Fathers?
