Texas Republicans aren’t racist, y’all, they’re just communists

“DOJ’s accusations of racial discrimination are baseless. In 2011, both houses of the Texas Legislature were controlled by large Republican majorities, and their redistricting decisions were designed to increase the Republican Party’s electoral prospects at the expense of the Democrats. It is perfectly constitutional for a Republican-controlled legislature to make partisan districting decisions, even if there are incidental effects on minority voters who support Democratic candidates.”

That is not a hyperbolic media induced passage, but the actual response from Texas to the Court regarding supposed voter suppression.

They want a one-party Texas.

Long Live the People’s Republic of Texas.

  1. Actually, you’re looking at fascism Texas-style. While the American public has been warned for generations about the evils of communism, it is largely oblivious to fascism. One reason is that the founding of the United States was intertwined with a type of proto-fascism. Confusion often arises because both communism and fascism are one-party rule. Yet, there are some decided differences.
In its current form, fascism is a 20th century phenomenon created in the wake of World War I. At its core, fascism is a reaction to perceived excesses in democracy. This is consistent with the generation of Founding Fathers responsible for The Constitution of the United States as written in 1787. In fact, these Founders feared the common (white) man voting for politicians as much as they were terrified of being ruled by a monarch! That’s why, to this very day, the President of the United States is officially elected by an Electoral College rather than by popular vote. It is also why United States Senators were originally chosen by state legislatures. In the initial scheme, only the House of Representatives was elected by the popular vote of property-owning white males! That composition of the electorate is not so different from results of the current round of voter suppression come to fruition.
One important difference between communism and fascism is its attitude toward capitalism. Whereas communism eschews capitalism and, no matter how imperfectly, tries to level the playing field, fascism favors capital over labor. Moreover, there isn’t much difference between the Protestant work ethic and the Nazi slogan “Arbeit macht frei”(“labor makes free”). The principal difference under fascism is the state decides who should work and what they should do.
Fascism is fueled by the brand of patriotism that is often labeled these days as super patriotism. As clearly demonstrated by the Third Reich, this level of nationalism can manifest itself as racism. Under fascism, some fringe element is often designated as an official enemy of the state. This, by the way, is also consistent with Vladimir Putin’s war on homosexuality in post-Soviet Russia.
Whereas communism embraces gender equality – even to the point of enshrining it in the Soviet Constitution – fascism is thoroughly male dominated. Women are expected to play subordinate roles only. That which America’s founders knew as moderate restraint or domestic chastisement (aka “wife spanking”) is permitted, encouraged, and even practiced by fascist elites. Interesting enough, this tradition, which was sanctioned by the Orthodox church in pre-Soviet Tzarist Russia, has reemerged in the post-Soviet era. It is also advocated by some churches in the United States as well as by various traditional marriage and conservative-oriented websites.
Under fascism, as in post-Soviet Russia, women are expected to crank out kids. Those with less desirable linage may be sterilized under fascism. Beginning in Indiana, compulsory sterilization of perceived undesirables was actually enshrined into law several American states during in the early to mid-20th century. It only ceased after World War II because eugenics became associated with Hitler.
Currently, as in Russia, the white majority in the United States is perceived to be threatened by minority population increases. That’s the real reason for the war on abortion and even birth control in the United States. Conservatives are easy to identify because they believe children have more rights than parents before their born!
Firsthand observers at the time noted Hitler could never have come to power without the complicity of good Lutherans. Nor, by the way, could Putin hold onto power in Russia without the unwavering support of the Orthodox Church. Likewise, Christianity will play an important role in the rise of fascism in the United States. All that is require is a charismatic leader, like a neo-Reagan, to arise like a savior on horseback to seal the fate of the late great United States of America. The good news thus far is he doesn’t seem to be on the political horizon.

      1. The current trend toward creating a police state enforcement and spying, shifting from liberal arts to technical education, and continual beating of the war drums by media mouthpieces also fit into a neo-Nazi motif.
As with the KKK, Operation Rescue, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Tony Perkins, Bryan Fischer, and the like, useful idiots serve as front men in America’s march of fascism. In the shadows, some very deep pockets are pulling the puppet stings. Consequently, a reading of William Manchester’s The Arms of Krupp and William Hartung’s more recent Prophets of War might prove useful at this juncture.
