The due date is 13 October, but…. Sophia Camille Watts will be here shortly, I suspect; we’ve learned to decipher the signs, I reckon.
The weather has been so lovely here lately, with the temperatures cooling down, the leaves starting to change higher in the mountains. For those poor folks who do not have four seasons, autumn here in the Appalachian Mountains present God’s creative work in a majestic fashion.
So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” (Luk 6:46-49 NLT)
Tradition tells us that Luke, the companion on Paul’s missionary journeys wrote this, reporting a more ordered history than had been available to his community. I really have no reason to question that, or whether or not these are the words which Christ said.
Beyond that, we discussed the foundation as Doctrine, the floodwaters as trials and temptations, and house as the Church and the individual. I think that the youngin’s are starting to expand their mind and look for different answers than that which is merely apparent.
I really don’t have that busy of a week – I do have a few posts planned, including one of the social (de)constructs of Philemon and one on Chloe as Paul’s Spy. (Or something like that.) Of course, I have more posts planned and in the works than I actually ever get around to posting.
I like Johnny Cash, and the song, Uncloudy Day – so this video below works. Enjoy and have a great week.
