Really? Who needs Reasons to Study Theology and Religion

The academic study of theology and religion has taken a bullet recently. Cuts in higher education have led to reports of staff reductions in the School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion at The University of Birmingham and the planned closure of Bangor University’s School of Theology and Religious Studies in 2013. Regular readers will be familiar with my personal opinion that theology is a soft touch when it comes to cost-cutting exercises and my failure to understand why theology is considered to be an expendable subject. Here’s the way I see it

Here’s my reason:

Such of American politics is built upon bad theology and religion. A better study – a better application – might curtail that a wee bit.
