Question of the Day: Which Old Testament Prophet Should Run for President?

2008 Republican Party presidential primaries

I haven’t done one of these for a while, but as I have been busy this week, I don’t have much to post.

Sorry about that.

Anyway, Jim is promoting his ideal Republican candidate so I thought that the question should be about who is the ideal Prophetic Party candidate.

Which Old Testament Prophet, minor or major or Joel or even one of the bookless ones, should run for President? Which one would be the ideal Presidential candidate (forgoing actual theology which would have them avoid such things)?

For me, Amos.

  1. Malachi.

He seems to be the prophet most pastors quote to encourage tithing, so he would have lots of donations to mount a campaign.

  2. Amos is my favourite. But Isaiah probably had a bit more understanding of the court, so might be better equipped to drive the government.
