Then Jesus wept. (Joh 11:35 NLT)
What is your favorite verse? See, this one is mine, because in John’s high Christology, Christ is made an almost weak human in that He weeps for His departed friend. It binds up in that verse the scope of human compassion.
Judges 6:12
Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. Psalm 119:135 (NIV)
a fav NT verse for the same reason as yours – John 4:6 in (John’s Greek or) NLT’s English:
Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.
Good question. Hard to say with so many good ones to choose from. I’ll get back to you.
Too many choices, but here is one:
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” – Matthew 10:34
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
“Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” Is. 55.1 … Just kidding, well at least partially, I do love wine and milk … “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.” Okay so that’s three verses – Eph 4.4-6.
test everything; hold fast what is good. – 1 Thess 5:21
