From Arpaio to Limbaugh, the Right has lost it’s frackin mind #misbehavin

Limbaugh either is off his medication or on some serious stuff. Earlier this week, he called a young woman who spoke to Congress a, well…

What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. (here)

He’s gone on now to other stuff… to suggesting that she, and by virtue of she, all women on birth control, post videos of themselves having sex.

Then you have the nutcase in Arizonia:

Mike Zullo, Arpaio’s lead investigator, said his team believes the Hawaii Department of Health has engaged in a systematic effort to hide from public inspection any original 1961 birth records it may have in its possession.

“Officers of the Hawaii Department of Health and various elected Hawaiian public officials may have intentionally obscured 1961 birth records and procedures to avoid having to release to public inspection and to the examination of court-authorized forensic examiners any original Obama 1961 birth records the Hawaii Department of Health may or may not have,” Zullo said.

This is the theory of motivated reasoning in action. No matter what, people will not believe what they don’t want to believe. No amount of facts or evidence will actually satisfy their conspiracies.

This is crazy….

  1. In all honesty, most women have heard this kind of slur against their character by old white men in various positions within the Church and/or society. We’re used to it by now. The double standard continues unabated: Men on Viagra dogging on anything in a skirt = boys will be boys! Give that man healthcare coverage for his blue pills! Women on contraceptives = whores who must be denied healthcare access to prevent the fall of all society. Brothers in Christ must never be tempted to sin sexually therefore Sisters in Christ MUST dress modestly! Never mind holding the brothers to the same high level of self control…..because you know….boys will be boys and it’s up to the women to keep them sexually pure.

*shrugs* Thanks Rush – you just gave women another reason to vote for Obama in the Fall.

  2. P.S. And really….it’s usually for the most part men in general…..and not even necessarily confined to old white men. SIGH.

  3. Amy and I were just talking about Limbaugh, and I really don’t understand Christian fans of that pervert.

I don’t quite want to go as far as Jim West did, that anyone who listens to the show isn’t a Christian, but he does have a point. It really is long since time that we point out that this level of vitriol and bigotry isn’t compatible with Jesus. Just like we would say to people watching porn.

    1. I don’t think Rush Limbaugh is a Christian. Anyone can say it. I mean Howard Sern could say that, and 15,000 non-hristias who think they are would listen to him. When Rush came out, he was the ONLY guy in town. Not just conservative, the ONLY guy. He started getting big when Papa Bush started spouting nonsense. There wasn’t a need really for political commentators as much it seemed. Once the press stopped being bipartisan (when I was in college. They used to say “If I can tell your political leanings in your article, I’ll rip it up and throw it away”. And they were serious. Around 1993, I visited my alma mater again and talked with some of the folks at the college paper. They said that they had TWO college papers..each with a political leaning. Rush wasn’t too bad around ’91 or so, probably because there was no one to compare him to, but around the time he had that issue with the pills (2000?), I heard from people he started changing for the worse. He never said he was a Christian back in the 90’s, but I see him now as the Jerry Springer of radio. 😉
