Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. (Luk 10:30 NKJ)
Next week, I will be writing a series on this parable, so I thought I might start it off by asking you, my friends, who was is the wounded man? (No easy answers, and I would suspect, no wrong answers.) Feel free to elaborate.
Well a guess – you did say no wrong answers – a samaritan on the basis that people are more willing to help one of their own.
Questions – what was the difference at that time between a rabbi, priest and levite
and why do you think Jesus placed the man walking from Jerusalem to Jericho
Jan, I hope you stick around for some of my takes!
A Rabbi would have been a local teacher, a Priest someone who served at the Temple, and a Levite? Um… You had to be a Levite to be a Priest, so not sure what the distinction was. I’ll have to look it up.
yes, will stick around. Just learning…
