A storm on the beach always puts me in the mind if Genesis 1, the better creation story. The waters of chaos, storms, sea monsters, and the windows of heaven… Granted all mythological views but very much the most adept description of life on a stormy beach.

Maybe this is one the reasons I don’t care for Young Earth Creationism… They miss the grandness of the author’s poetic intent, remove the mystical, mythical appreciation for the experience that is mor than human.

How do they miss it? They see the grandness in God’s work and see that it was real and not mythical or mystical. God spoke and it was–nothing unreal about that.

    1. Easy… YEC’ers do not understand the text, more often than not, are antisemitic. YECs are nothing more than poor readers who believe that God is white, wrote technical manuals for IKEA, and speaks 15th century English.

The original author, and original audience, would have understood both Creation stories in Genesis 1-3, not toe any the Creation stories in 6-11, the ones in Isaiah, Job, and the Psalms, as not about physical origins, but something else. The closest we come in ANE literature to physical cosmic origins is the really ancient Egyptian monad. Now, I know you don’t understand this, but this is actual evidence and fitting with the biblical narrative as well as Church Tradition.

Dave, do some actual reading. You are far from a teacher: you are barely a poor student. If I has to measure your academic level, I would recommend another year before you start kindergarten

      1. Again with the personal attack. That is what most unbelievers do when they are caught talking about something that is just not true. They can’t defend their position so they attack, bully and insult. No where does the Bible say to go look at Egyptian literature to find information about God’s creative act.

Once again you lead people astray and into sin. it is a good thing you do not have the authority to say what is fact, physical, or real in the Bible. You would lead millions to their destruction. Everything in the Bible is true and the creation verses all speak of a physical act of God using His supernatural power to bring everything out of nothing.

You are very deceived and do not know it. if I were you I would test those voices you are listening to as evil masquerades as angels of light.

        1. Wait… Dave – you do see the irony here, right? You have done nothing but attacked – and without any evidence, not even of your supposed degree.

How blind you are to your own deception.

  2. I want a picture of you walking on a turbulent sea! Otherwise I agree that there is little better than sunrise at the edge of the sea having lived for a year and a half in a fifth floor Amelia Island condo, 100 feet from the water with a balcony looking east. The sunrises were amazing. I’ll never forget one evening when a weird weather event for a few minutes presented an inverted view of the space center structures above the south horizon, more than a hundred miles away. I had no wittnesses but I can assure you that it happened.
