I am trying not to take those whom I disagree with one on one. I clearly disagree with MacDonald and Thompson (parallelomania), but I am trying not to allow jabs at them in my own righting.
There is a certain amount of creative freedom tho. I am not really limited by space, so I can write until I feel like the point is made.
I have finished the first rough draft of the Introduction which covered purpose, philosophy and overview as well as the problems I see in the historical-critical method.
I had planned the intro at 1000 to 2000 words, but it made its way up to 3579. Only 41421 to go.
I feel good about it -at least the thought process – so far. I mean, I didn’t really salt the earth for source, form and redaction criticisms, just should what I believe are their limitations. I focused on Narrative criticism as the way forward, but cautioned that it has to be done with form front and center.
So, we’ll see.
“My own righting”
Yeah, that’s Freudian.
