All of them say the same thing and not one of them mention the United States of America.

While at a Gospel Sing a while ago, I was enjoying the Inspirations until they started preaching that the USA is a Christian nation because, you know, Christians are still here. Now, by that logic, the entire world is Christian, or everyone in all the other countries are hellbound sinners with not a Christian among them.

I mean, have they looked at this country yet?

And then, as a cure-all, the singer/preacher/pontificator brought up the above verse.

Tell me, where does it say that Americans are the People of God? Did we have a fit with this in the 19th century with British-Israelism? Or is God’s name ‘The United States of America?’

A note should have been sent to the man on the platform, and everyone else who uses this verse – read the restrictions about whom God hears and to whom those promises are delivered.
