Sunday Thoughts – 7/18

The Scripture lesson this morning came from Colossians 1.15-20:

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see– such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. (Col 1:15-20 NLT)

The pastor preached a great sermon on the responses to Christ and where Christ is supposed to be in our lives. Even the children’s sermon got to that. We are greatly enjoying our experiences here, finding worship possible in so many ways.

Summer time abounds and so do the storms. And the naps. I love my Sunday afternoon naps. Got to have them. They don’t take the place of my beauty sleep, but you know, they make me less grouchy.

Got a few things planned for this week, and of course, don’t forget the monthly giveaways,

And pray for Jeremy, as he is picking on me again. I don’t know why everyone is always picking on me…

I hope and pray that each of you find it a beautiful day, and one worth praising God.

And for the song this evening, bringing Bach back…
