Oh? Am I blaming Terry Jones for the murder for four Americans in Libya? Not really, but he allows his hate to become fuel for the fire smoldering already.
See, after years of burning Qurans, Terry has taken to making propaganda pieces about Islam with the intent to insight and inflame:
That’s also because it’s associated with Florida Pastor Terry Jones (yes, the ******* who burnt the Koran despite Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates’ pleas) and two Egyptians living in the U.S., according to Egyptian press accounts.* The Egyptians are allegedly Coptic, the Christian minority that makes up about a tenth of Egypt.
Growing up in south Louisiana, I knew about the red ants. These fire ants, these tools of satan, rested easily in their dirty, dusty, sandy piles attacking no one, but always in rage. However, if you go and stick something into the pile, disturb it – kick it over, they are going to get you. Radical extremists are the same way. Terry Jones is doing his level best to cause these things so that he can point and say, “See, they aren’t a religion of peace.” How ironic that Christian fundamentalist is inciting Islamic fundamentalism… that someone who professes to follow the “Truth,” Jesus, is lying and provoking murder.
And the new darling of the Christian Right, Mitt Romney, has responded in a way similar to Terry Jones – with lies and provocation.
At this moment, we pray for the family of Chris Stevens and the other American diplomats murdered last night.
The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., has hanged an effigy of President Barack Obama from a gallows on its front lawn, a move DWOC pastor Terry Jones said was in response to Obama’s recent endorsement of same-sex marriage, as well as his stance on abortion and what Jones called his “appeasing of radical Islam.”
I guess burning the Quran was not enough. Good thing he is a Christian, eh?
This stuff worries me. Where does he find license for this either in Scripture or common sense?
Oddly enough, Jones has contracted some sort of Stockholm Syndrome as he seems to be using the same tactics of those whom he despises.
Oh, I’m sorry, but that’s how I read the headline…
Pastor Terry Jones has once again threatened to burn Qurans, this time in protest of Iran’s continued imprisonment of Christian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. The Florida minister, whose previous protests attracted violent reaction, tells CP why he is once more taking such a controversial stance. (here)
This man is not a pastor, and I would question his Christianity.
Most will focus on the fact that this is considered the most Islamic city in country, but…
In Dearborn, Mich., anti-Islam Pastor Terry Jones and an assistant were ordered to jail tonight after they refused to pay a $1 peace bond to hold a rally at the largest mosque in North America, the Detroit Free Press reports.
After a two-day trial-like hearing, a jury sided with prosecutors and agreed that Jones would likely “breach the peace” with his planned rally outside the Islamic Center of America. Authorities argued that a riot could erupt.
Prosecutors had estimated the cost of additional security at about $46,000. But the judge set the so-called peace bond at just $1.
While Rodney tries to take a snipe at me, undermining the seriousness of his post, he goes further in his attempt at defending Terry Jones and attacking both Christian and myself, proving once again that Rodney will by nature take the contrarian position on any and everything.
What Rodney doesn’t get in his rush to try to make a point is that neither Christian nor I are saying that Terry Jones is the cause of all the angry feelings towards the United States coming from the Afghanistan people. What I am saying is that Terry Jones is causing the recent deaths. Let’s explore this a bit.
First, the angry feelings predate Terry Jones. Second, with the recent civilian deaths, the anger and frustration over American occupation is growing exponentially (read Rodney’s post for a good treatment of this). Third, what Terry Jones is doing is allowing the leaders of the frustration to blow the lid off of the people’s rational and natural frustration. The frustrated people are looking for any excuse to protest and to riot.
Did Princip actually cause World War One? No. Is he given the credit for doing so, by his actions of assassinating the Archduke? Yup. The problem is, is that Austria-Hungry was looking for a reason to launch a war. While this action was in of it self insignificant to the events which surrounded it, it was used as a catalyst to launch a war which would not end until 1945 if you are being conservative. Terry Jones is making himself a catalyst. Therefore, he is guilty of causation.
Terry knows that his burning of the Qur’an will causes deaths and yet, he’ll continue to provoke the actions. While he is not the cause of the angry feelings, he is purposely putting himself into a situation to push people over the edge. On the other side is the vile depravity which we have seen – deaths of innocents.
Even with his attempted snipes, he and I agree on a whole host of these issues.
