Vatican dreams of Saint Benedict XVI

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger had an organ donation card. When he was elected as Pope Benedict XVI it “automatically became invalid”. Because:

Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care Ministry, explained to La Repubblica that the Pope’s body belongs to the whole Church, and its preservation is understandable in view of possible future veneration.

Maybe a cardinal in the Vatican has prophesied this and knows that Benedict XVI will become a Saint. Or it’s been predestined. Predestination is a concept that can be difficult to grasp.

Ethics: Do we Kill to Save? Canadian Hospital tried to kill 2-month old for heart

medical doctors checkupEthics questions are being raised concerning a Canadian baby and the possibility of her organs being “harvested.

It involves two-month-old Kaylee Wallace who has Joubert Syndrome, a disease which Dr. David Prentice of the Family Research Council says is treatable and not fatal. LifeSiteNews.com reports the media has portrayed Kaylee as dying, as she has been in the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.

“It does affect parts of the brain that have to do with balance,” Prentice says of Joubert Syndrome, adding that “it can affect parts of the brain that have to do with breathing.”

Another child in the Toronto hospital needed a heart transplant, and Kaylee matched as a donor. Doctors proposed to remove Kaylee’s respirator, let her go to sleep and die from sleep apnea, and then harvest the organs shortly after cardiac arrest. The ventilator was removed, but Kaylee continued breathing and is still doing so.

“I think it points out a problem here in terms of the haste we’re seeing in some situations to harvest organs from people and trying to redefine them as dead or dying so that we can harvest their organs,” Prentice contends.

David Prentice (FRC)When Kaylee refused to stop breathing, the hospital properly removed her from the organ donor list.

“The wider question becomes for all of us, as people want to harvest organs, being pushed into a situation where we might be putting our loved one on an organ donor list and they are not dying,” he concludes.
