Stephen Hawking doesn’t believe in Heaven.. who’d guessed?

Thanks to Robert for the tip to this story. As many of my readers know, I don’t believe in ‘going to heaven’ either, but I do believe that their is a life after this one. I have been Surprised by Hope upon finding this story of the New Creation… 😉

A belief that heaven or an afterlife awaits us is a “fairy story” for people afraid of death, Stephen Hawking has said.

In a dismissal that underlines his firm rejection of religious comforts, Britain’s most eminent scientist said there was nothing beyond the moment when the brain flickers for the final time. (here)

Why is this news?

  1. If Heaven is an alternative reality on Earth, sort of like the alternate reality on ‘Fringe’, then you will go to Heaven, but it’s here on Earth.

  2. You dont believe in heaven? How do you plan on approaching the holy of holies? Where does a believer go upon death? If to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and He is seated at the right hand of the Father, then where would you be, if you trust Christ as Savior?

    1. I don’t believe that we ‘go to heaven’. I believe that we awake to the new earth, on That/The Day. You know, the place where God is. On earth.

  3. I’m skeptical of disembodied human souls and therefore I think I agree with Joel. We just wake up on Earth 2, and not the one from the crappy TV show.

Didn’t you know? Stephen Hawking’s sneezes are news. They make movies based on his off-hand comments. Did you see Skyline?

      1. I didn’t see Skyline either (I did see Battle) but all the trailers had newscasters talking about that comment he made a few years ago about how we should reconsider trying to contact aliens because they might conquer us.

  4. Joel, Joel here..
unfortunately i am not with you Joel..
Because there are many craps i mean disciples of Satan who copy’s Christ.. and divert the minds of Non-believers of Christ. . So, better for you Joel is not to follow a person who is not able to walk on his own..

Don’t go towards wrong direction Joel.. Read bible and follow His words.. and not of Stephen hawking who himself is not sure of what rubbish he’s speaking about.. he’s just hiding his weakness by saying all this craps..

Hope you choose the correct way and be blessed. . :)
