I am saddened by the divorce of Todd and Shonnah Bentley as much as everyone else in the Body of Christ. But the hatred that you have put forth through this media to slander Todd’s name does not represent the heart of Jesus in any capacity. And it is has been my experience that when people fight against the Body of Christ that God will take off His protective covering from that person and often times dangerous things happens to that person.

Case in point…a small church on Skid Row in LA had a person who was being really mean to the pastors and one day he was found dead with his throat slashed.

I would highly recommend that you not let the enemy of our souls use you to rant and rave about a man of God with all of his failings…Trust me when I say that God has a way of dealing with His own Children and He doesn’t need you to do that for Him.

Call on the name of Jesus if you get into a pickle…the same one that Todd calls upon every day and He will save you from the punishment that is coming your way for being so mean and cruel to one of God’s very own.

Wow, Penny – that has to be one of the most ungodly comments that I think I’ve see. Shame on you

And 4 years and some change later I agree!! Penny I would be careful of planting curses while using the LORD’s name in vain! He is a GOD of judgement and even destruction of those who choose not to follow Him but to His children (and no one on earth knows) He is merciful and full of GRACE!! I pray you have found this out and are no longer using the heartbreaking stories of death “scare” people into repent!

  2. Penny, your post was not only ungodly, it was cultist in its not even slightly vieled threats. Utterly disgusting.

Todd Bentley is a disgrace but your post reveals the mindset behind people who blindly follow him and THAT is really frightening!

Hey, just wonderin’, anyone remember the cross? Remember we’re supposed to carry our own and follow Jesus? The glory comes with the cross, and is commensurate with suffering for the gospel (see Romans 8 I think – we share in His glory if indeed we share in His sufferings). Where’s the cross in all this exchange?

Depends on how you look at it – it’s because of satan that the cross was necessary – not FOR him, but to OVERCOME him. And how did Jesus do it? By forgiving those who sent Him there, saying they didn’t know what they were doing. Aren’t we supposed to do the same, bearing in mind that a judgment day is coming for us too, and it has to do with every word that comes out of mouths (or perhaps also typed on the internet?) I know what I’m talking about – satan’s biggest ploy in all of this is to (1) find Todd’s weak spots and exploit them to the max, then (2) get people judging and condemning in order to bring the same on themselves, so the whole world will scoff at God’s people.

    1. It was not because of satan.. it was because of us. We choose these things, daily.

Actually, Scripture doesn’t record a judgment day for the righteous.

      Todd isn’t a Christian.

It is appointed once for men to die and after that the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). I’ll let God decide about Todd – I think there’s enough mercy for even him when he repents.

    1. When he repents…

True, but we are called away at death to return, without judgment.

So is a person who sins no longer a Christian unless he/she repents?

Jesus’ blood is sufficient and shed for all mankind! If Todd has repented of his sins he’s forgiven, period! I hate sin and the destruction it causes, but God and only God is our judge. I’m not on anyone’s side but Jesus’. I pray for unity within the whole body of Christ and that we would stop throwing stones at each other. I pray that we would love one another and lay die our lives for each other! I thank God for His forgiveness, restoration and unending love for all if us. Blessings.

Penny you spoke well, so often we take too many things into our own hands God never called us to stand in on His behalf, Jesus paid the penalty for every person known unto mankind, and the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. I say this, How dare we Judge those that God readily forgives and while the blood is still on the mercy seat there is remission for our sins. I fear for those who put words in Gods mouth and make judgement on His behalf, when things don’t fit into our ideology then its about time we got on our knees and start crying out for their souls with a pure heart before the Father.
