  1. Interesting. He was apparently a proto-cessationist, a forerunner of John MacArthur.

Ok. I’ve got to be a jerk.
“The principal reason why the Old Law permitted us to ask questions of God”

    Num 27:21
“And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Jehovah”

The Las Vegas approach to asking God.

“For, in giving us, as he did, his Son, who is his one and only Word, he spoke to us once and for all, in this single Word, and he has no occasion to speak further.”

Except there are too many Bishops, priests, and theologians in between trying to put their two cents in. And even in a one time lecture, you’re allowed to ask questions. If the original lecture wasn’t so darn ambiguous in the first place, maybe we wouldn’t have to ask questions of the Professor (God).
