1. John C. Poirier

As bad as this is, you’ll find even worse haymaking on the fact and nature of the Enlightenment in the writings of John Milbank and Stanley Hauerwas. (I’m not exaggerating.)

  2. Beating. My. Head. Against. Wall.

The American Revolution was a product of the Enlightenment. But I guess we’ll ignore that part.

A lot more than the Holocaust, which is a throwback to ancient persecution more than an Enlightenment phenomenon.

  3. Know More Than I Should

As usual, the propaganda masters at Fox News have presented a half-truth. The Holocaust was a product of science. They just conveniently forgot to mention that Hitler borrowed many of his ideas from the United States.
On this side of the Atlantic, the Stanford Binet Intelligence Test and the precursor of Planned Parenthood were also products of the same drive to produce a master race using scientific methods. So, too, was compulsory sterilization of those perceived to be either inferior or misfits. It was all so logical – or so it seemed to the ruling elites of their day. Even today, there are those inclined to believe that Hitler was merely a fly in the ointment of perfection.
