Death to the Creators of South Park

I have met only a few Muslims in my life, and stood next to them in several justice campaigns. Don’t get me wrong here, I do not count all Muslims as the type which will be portrayed in the film, just as not all Christians are Huratee, but there are extremist elements of that religion, and they are seeing a rise in some quarters. I believe that Islam is compatible with democracy, of which freedom of speech and religion is essential, but again, there are elements of extreme fundamentalism which must be dealt with by members of that faith:

  1. mmm, anyone who kills someone because of religion is not of God , and is a murderer,in my opinion, and looks like they just opened a big can of worms. look out for more of this to follow.

  2. Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim nation, and it is also a democracy, albeit not that wonderful . There is a growing Muslim fundamentalist push, but they are a small minority. A court decision this week upholding a religious blasphemy is a worry though. In Australia, there is often news coverage of Indonesia.

Turkey is also predominately Muslim and a democracy. Don’t know enough about Turkey to really comment.
