Dr. Brady, who has suffered an indescribable loss, has posted on facebook, twitter, and his blog various moments of joy, and pain, regarding the death of his son. Today, he posted on the power of the religious community.
The Biblioblogging community is one of, well, differences, but we often we rally around those who have suffered loss in some way, although this is, as long as I have been blogging, the worst sort of loss.
So, I am asking, in conjunction with a few more, that you take a moment at 10am on Friday, to have a moment of silence – no tweets, facebook, or blog post for about 5 minutes. This is the start of the funeral service, you see.
Then, I would like you to link to this post: http://targuman.org/blog/2013/01/03/john-william-mckenzie-brady-mack-the-best-boy-ever. Just link, with the picture or a black jpeg (think armband). Let his father’s words be the only thing we need to see.
No reflection or other words, just this.
Invite other to do so as well, not just at 10, but all day long, to show our support for one in our community.
I believe in the power of community, and in showing support, even if across cyberspace, for those of our community.
