Mike Huckabee – another @$$ (because symbols mean I didn’t say the word)

Well, you know, it’s an interesting thing. When we ask why there is violence in our schools, but we’ve systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools have become a place for carnage because we’ve made it a palce where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, responsibility, accountability? That we’re not just going to have to be accountable to the police, if they catch us. But one day, we will stand in judgment before God. If we don’t believe that, we don’t fear that. (here)

Mike Huckabee has joined the fray.

I grew up in public schools in the 80’s and 90’s and guess what. We had God. But that doesn’t really matter.

The guy started killing his family. He started at home. Again, tho, that is irregardless.

What matters the most, I suspect, will be our failure to perform not prayers of obedience, but the social principles of Matthew 25.

This guy was sick (mentally), naked (emotionally), and imprison (both)… and yet as a society we deemed him someone else’s problem.

  1. I was reading some comments on one news blog, and one comment caught my eye, “it is becoming increasly clear that there is no god.” I agree with the poster. It is becoming increasly clear that the God Huckabee believes in doesn’t exist. A God that is constantly intervening doesn’t exist. Santa Claus God isn’t real, people will suffer in this life. But does that mean that God never intervenes? Some people, say no. I guess our hope is that God intervened once in the form of Jesus.

    • nate, I’m weighing how to generally respond to the argument of “Where was God.” I guess, for me, sitting so far removed from the tragedy,I think that we spend only a short time on this side of whatever awaits us.

  2. If God gave us free will why would He take it away just because we choose to use it for evil? That would end free will. P If He didn’t give us free will then when such evil is done it is difficult not to doubt.
