No, Dinesh, in no Christian circles is it okay to cheat on your wife

In both the CT interview and in his statement, D’Souza says he and his wife were separated for two years, and that he was trying to do the honorable thing by getting engaged to Joseph to legitimize their relationship. He says he consulted a lawyer who gave him the green light to get engaged while still legally married. D’Souza says, “I had no idea that it is considered wrong in Christian circles to be engaged prior to being divorced, even though in a state of separation and in divorce proceedings. Obviously I would not have introduced Denise as my fiancé at a Christian apologetics conference if I had thought or known I was doing something wrong.”  - ReligionDispatches

Yes, so he is saying not hanky panky occurred. Sure, we can believe him I guess because thus far, he has always been really honest, right? Sure, not counting his movies and books, I mean…

But, here’s the deal. MRS. Joseph was/is married and just as recently as September was bragging about her husband. Of course, she also bragged a lot, a lot, about Dinesh. Loved his work. So, 4 Oct he comes out and announces he is engaged to her – neither of which are divorced. So, you are telling me that in a matter of weeks, MRS. Joseph and Dinesh met and decided to spend the rest of their lives together to the hurt and damage of their families? All the while Dinesh via his public voice and MRS. Joseph through her blog are all in favor of “Traditional Family Values?”

Oh come on… I was born yesterday, but I wasn’t born last night.

  1. Adultery only matters if it’s a Kennedy, Bill Clinton, or John Edwards.

You should check the Commandments from the APB. I’m sure that there’s an exception for prominent propagandists.

  2. From Christianity Today:

When CT asked D’Souza directly for his response to charges of infidelity, he responded: “It’s absolutely not the case, um, that, um, that, um, um, you know, it’s…. Look, the issue here is that World is attributing to me an admission that I never made — is attributing to me a quotation that I never said. That to me is the problem… They are just claiming based upon my non-assertion that I did something that I didn’t do.”

So . . . based on his non-answer, what is D’Souza not asserting that he didn’t do?
