Just something a little sentimental today…

My mother died with I was 17. She died a drunk driver. Before this – before my rage against this aspect of her, before years of abuse by this one or that, I remember my mother’s voice. She could play the piano and sing. I remember those times, although the more troublesome times dominate my memory.

But, every now and this, I hear this song. This song is rather important to me. I remember my mother singing this song to me when I was much younger. Maybe it meant something to her because of the child’s name in the song and the subject matter of course. But, I remember those times she did sing along with the country crooners. Seemed that she was my mother the most during that time.

And now, I still hear her singing that song when it comes on the radio.
