A good question from Frank Schaeffer

In response to the recent data regarding 73% of white Evangelicals supporting Mitt Romney -

What’s the explanation for the fact that WHITE American evangelicals made the allegedly philandering lying ignorant braggart lapsed Roman Catholic Dinesh D’Souza their anti-Obama hero, embrace a pro-choice Mormon bishop who promoted abortion and Planned Parenthood in MA, are working to elect a job-destroying tax-avoiding lying flip-flopping-tell-anyone-anything-they-want-to-hear Swiss bank account collecting draft dodger running with a disciple of the God-hating, Jesus-mocking hater-of-the-poor Ayn Rand, for their presidential candidate and look the other way as a crazed ultra-Zionist many Israeli Jews fear billionaire casino owner who is being investigated for allegedly making billions off the dirtiest Chinese gambling Communist Party-controlled outfit in the world funds the enterprise, at the very same time as Franklin Graham sold his ailing father Billy’s soul and denied core evangelical theology by taking Mormonism off the Billy Graham organization’s list of cults in order to help the Mormon pagan-ritual-performing, Trinity-denying, casino-money-grubbing billionaire-coddling, earth-destroying global-warming denying Mormon bishop win respectability for his dead-Jews-baptizing-polygamy-rooted-reality-denying-interplanetary Masonic lodge-embracing faith in an election against an exemplary modest faithful husband good father compassionate smart BLACK evangelical Christian President who’s major accomplishments include saving the economy, ending a war, killing our greatest enemy, giving health care to children and the poor and the “least of these” and who has tried to reduce the number of abortions by helping women escape poverty in a reenactment of the lesson of the parable of the Good Samaritan?

Personally, I don’t think Frank cares about the Mormonism of the President – but he makes a point. Every Sunday, the things Mitt stands far is railed against… and yet?

  1. I support Obama, and I don’t particularly like Swiss bank accounts, Mormon theology, or profit (prophet) as the ultimate goal (direction) in life for us little people. All that said, I will be glad when the election is over. Too much hate and discontent. I already got into an argument with my neighbor, and he responded with, “you know, Obama is a Muslim.” All I can say is, if Romney is elected, we all deserve what we get. The U.S. electorate are a bunch of Bozo’s.

  2. I think it’s because they believe Romney won’t ignore SOS calls like Obama did at Benghazi. Romney is a leader. That’s what we need.

    • please tell me you aren’t buying the ill-informed talking points put out before the story is fully known. Romney is a leader, if you count lying as something to lead in

      • Don’t tell me you think your cherished Obama isn’t a liar. He’s a POLITICIAN. Hence, a liar. However, unlike Obama, Romney is a verified business owner. At the minimum, he’s led hundreds of employees and he has real world political experience (Governor of Massachusetts) . I am no fan of Romney though as you know.

        • First, that’s too cynical to be true. Second, that’s asine. Third , have you seen the amount of times Romney has lied?

        • I couldn’t answer as long as I wanted to earlier.

1.) Romney is a politician as well. Not all politicians are liars. This is a blatant lie that you should be ashamed of.

2.) Romney is not a business owner who has led hundreds of employees. He is a venture capitalist who has at most managed maybe ten, and usually clerical. Further, as far as VC’s go, he is not all that successful.

3.) Being a governor of Mass does not equal real world experience. Being President for four years does.

          • I can list 100 lies of Obama. Governors make better presidents than congressman because it’s the executive branch. No.3 , being a millionaire isn’t successful?

          • Oh? Well, let’s list them. Let’ go ahead and compare, shall we?

Really? George Bush had a good President? Hardly.

As a VC, he should have been a lot more wealthier. 22% of his investments failed.

  3. Here’s a brief list
    http://obamalies.net/list-of-lies

I never said Bush was a good president. He should’ve been impeached. For some reason, you think I follow the brainwashing of the present 2 party system. I’m an anarcho-capitalist and libertarian.

  4. Oh, how many investments have you made that were successful 100%? 25% is a good record in fact! I invested in 2 companies in the early 2000′s and BOTH failed. In fact, that’s perfectly normal.

  5. How many companies have you started? I started about 7. All failed but 2. I had an ISP that I sold in 1998 and I have a computer repair company now. I also planted a church but it never got bigger than 8 people. How many have you done?

    • What does all of this mean? That you are more qualified than Obama to be President?

      • I wouldn’t want the presidency, but Romney has more real world executive experience that Obama ever had. He was a governor and he does more than just vc. I’m very familiar with VC. I’ve accepted VC money. His company has acquired companies such as AMC Entertainment, Aspen Education Group, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino’s Pizza, DoubleClick, Dunkin’ Donuts, D&M Holdings, Guitar Center, Hospital Corporation of America, Sealy, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys “R” Us, Warner Music Group and The Weather Channel.
I’m just saying you have him in a wrong light. It seems you are blinded by your politics. Obama could kill children in Africa, and you think he’s a saint. If Romney or even Gary Johnson bought 3 Thai hookers from sexual slavery, you would see it as a political ploy. Romney’s public record is impeccable. He’s an honest man in both business and privately. I still think he’s a globalist though.

        • Craig Falvo says

Nevermind that under Romney’s governorship, Mass fell from 36th to 47th in terms of job creation…

          • Don’t tell me you actually believe the government can create jobs? Entrepreneurs create jobs. The only jobs the government can create are gov’t jobs. Plus, the gov’t has no money of its own. It can only steal money from people who have money.

          • We are the Government.

Let’s also consider what Romney said – Romney said he could create 12 million new jobs in four years.

Governments can create jobs – but they are better at leveling the playing field to create job creators.

          • Hpw can a government create jpbs? You need entrepreneurs with few regulations and taxes to create jobs. If I have to pay beaucoup taxes for each person I hire, I just won’t hire them. Or I’ll just sell my business and let someone else deal with the headache.

          • Um… regulations are down, taxes are down, and corporation profits are way up. Jobs are down.

Let’s compare this to Eisenhower’s time – taxes were way, way, way up and so were jobs.

Or Clinton’s – taxes up, regulations up, and more jobs.

Further, governments can create jobs. it’s call government contracts, the military-industrial complex, and the WPA.

        • Tell me, what real world experience did Romney have – and how was it manifested in his role as Governor?

You lie about me – but you lie about the President as well.

There is not one honest bone in that man’s body. Period.

          • Not one honest bone? I woudn’t say that about anybody unless I had proof. I mean, Obama is a liar extraordinaire but I wouldn’t say he doesn’t have any honest bone in his body. He’s a politician. Watch it, you’re crossing the line of slander.

          • Oh, yes, the ad hom fallacy.

First, if you actually paid attention to fact checkers, you would see that Romney has lied so much in this campaign that it is crazy. (I’ll kill FEMA; I’ll keep FEMA fully funded. And that is just the most recent). Second, if you watched him in the debate you would see him lie several times in 90 minutes.

Third, the man is as close to the father of lies as one can get.

          • Oh, you mean like when Obama promised to have government transparent and on CSPAN? You keep actng like I’m a Rpmney supporter. You are acting like a typcal “Obama can do no evil” Obama supporter though.

          • Oh? Tell me where I’ve even hinted at that?

          • There were also Jm Crow laws in Eisenhower’s time. Do you want to take us back?

          • Um… he actually moved us passed that…

So, let’s see where we are at. You have put out talking points but I’ve given you evidence where you are wrong. Evidence. The only thing you can counter with are logical fallacies.

Surely, you see the weakness of your position

          • You know what else didn’t exist in Eisenhower’s era which exists now? Brown people. :)

          • you are deflecting.

  6. It doesn’t matter to me. I am an anarcho-capitalist. Ultimately, the gov’t “creatng” jobs doesn’t create wealth.
    I don’t follow the right-left paradigm.

    • A gov’t job is a step closer to slavery..the government (which I think has too much control) is now in control of your livelihood? Where’s the liberty in that? I think Hong Kong is a great model. No import tariffs, no taxes either. Their may be poverty, but those people have the option to get out of their poverty, and become wealthy. It’s the perfect ancap test bed. People are immigrating to Hong Kong in droves.

    • That’s not what you have represented. Look at your comments and tell me that this doesn’t matter to you?

And yes, the government does create jobs (no scare quotes needed because there is actual evidence) and yes government does create wealth (again, i can provide actual evidence.)

      • Give me evidence that the government creates wealth.

        • The Military-Industrial complex. Government contractors.

The interstate system, which even without all of the government contractors, produces wealth because it opens up hidden communities to production centers.

          • Technically you’re right. I can steal money from you and hire a body guard. You could call that “creating” a job. The gov’t creates jobs and pays it’s employees with stolen money.

          • Oh dear…

Tell you what, Ant – I’ll let you live in the little Marxist fantasy world you have created for yourself – because you are more Marxist than you think – and I’ll try not to bring up any real facts to you.
