Quote of the Day: Mitt Romney

I only regret you’re repeating it day in and day out. When you give a speech you don’t go through a laundry list, you talk about the things that you think are important and I described in my speech, my commitment to a strong military unlike the president’s decision to cut our military. And I didn’t use the word troops, I used the word military. I think they refer to the same thing.

He was speaking to Fox News.

To be fair, you cannot judge the DNC and mentions of troops there as some of it was no doubt a reaction to Romney’s lack of mention. However, military and troops are different. Ask Eisenhower.

  1. To him, they are the same thing.

Just like corporations are people. He’s into collectivism, obviously.

    Alright, that was sarcastic.

Seriously, though, he doesn’t really focus on individuals as much as corporate bodies.

  2. Joel, that is about as lame a response as I’ve ever heard. You’re right — military is institution — troops are people. Not recognizing the men and women serving in harms way is simply unconscionable — and suggests he’s not a fit commander in chief.

  3. Every president is always worse than the previous one.
