The same way Barack Obama could run for president of a country with 57 states. Everyone makes bonehead mistakes.
bonehead v. making false statements on federal tax returns… which, no doubt, were read by campaign staff before release
[...] Joel has some questions after posting a picture of Romney’s 2011 tax return. [...]
I assume you mean this as a joke or maybe you haven’t looked at a 1040 form. In case you haven’t looked the form says if you are a resident of a foreign country see page 16. I hope you knew this.
It is tagged under humor
Nate,
Yes, but I suspect many would think the humor was because it was a true mistake. So many see only what they want to believe without question.
It is humorous – but the only thing I’d say is that it shows the ineptness of the Romney campaign.
Joel,
I don’t see how someone photoshopping a tax return shows any problem for Romney.
Skid, I thought the picture was of the real tax return – even the Boston papers are carrying it.
I’m sure it is the real published return but most of the sentence containing foreign country has been omitted via photoshop.
I stand corrected. The older form I looked at had the country space with the qualifier to check the instructions IF it was a foreign country. This is probably the result of the failure to modify a computer program.
