Joel L. Watts holds a Masters of Arts from United Theological Seminary with a focus in literary and rhetorical criticism of the New Testament. His interests include exploring the role of mimesis in human civilization, specifically in the study of religion and media, as well as science fiction and the way in which it has allowed mythology to be explored in light of scientific discoveries of the past century. He is the author of Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark: Introduction and Commentary (Wipf and Stock, 2013) and a co-editor and contributor to From Fear to Faith: Stories of Hitting Spiritual Walls (Energion, 2013).

  1. Don’t be silly.

There is no reason to wonder at all.

OF COURSE they care more about political conservatism than Biblical Christianity. Who doesn’t know that?

Anyone who can seriously argue that God cares more about cutting the capital gains tax rate than caring for “the least of these” among us is clearly so far from caring about the Bible or Christ that it shouldn’t even be a question.

  2. Dr. David Tee says

It must be nice to be perfect like joel and west… The Bible says to remove the beam out of your own eye first, so you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your neighbor’s eye.

Sadly, too many people enjoy pointng fingers at others instead of making their lives in tune with God’s will.

    • Just Sayin' says

Pity you never learned to get past the ad hominem fallacy.

    • I did remove it. I left fundamentalism, repent of my wicked ways as a kjvo bible thumping, YEC, creationist…. God saved me. Glory. You are on the other hand are nothing more than a Judas.

    • “Dr.” Tee (presumably, T for Troll?), have you ever considered saying something positive instead of going to blogs you don’t like and throwing out silly little lines like this?

Perhaps you should find a new hobby that will relieve stress.

You’ll feel a lot better. Maybe fishing, chess, playing D&D, something like that.
