Why?
Because I have an offer for publication for my proposal of “Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark.” Once the contract is signed, I’ll let you know who and when, etc… (Not, the deal is not signed yet, as I am waiting on at least one more decision by a publisher before I decide what to do.)
So…
This weekend, I will have removed most of my posts dealing with this subject.
I do recommend several books.
Anything by Adam Winn (he has two – get the second one if you can’t get both). Get the Lucan book by Shadi Bartsch. As much as I disagree with his conclusions, Dennis MacDonald is a must read on mimesis as well.
And then, save your money for mine.
Once this book is done, I hope to implore another publisher to allow me to write a book on Living Mark’s Gospel Today, in which Mark is presented as an active Gospel for today’s situations.
I’m also talking with another publisher about another project removed from all of this.

Congratulations! I look forward to seeing it in print. I had just read your interview-style post on Lucan and John Mark yesterday but never got around to looking for your other posts on the topic. Too late, I guess. That’s the price to be paid for publishing.
Indeed! And thanks!
Congratulations. Richly deserved.
Well done!
thanks!
Congratulations! This is exciting. I will buy a first edition.
THANKS! AND ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS!
While not sure about the subject matter, as I’ve not followed it, congrats on the book deal.
Our differing journeys will not keep me from rejoicing in the blessings you enjoy.
Thank you – but I don’t think our journeys are different, Jason – Same God, after all.
Hope all is well
Crazy busy, but well.
I emailed you some of the stuff.
Thanks. Will check it out one day next week.
Extra busy for the next few weeks. Will take a while to read it.
Congrats Joel. I will be praying for you guys through the writing / publishing process.
