The most horrific moment of today’s political season

In tonight’s debate, the moderator, Wolf Blitzer of CNN, asked Ron Paul about health care. He gave a hypothesis and finally said, ‘should we just let him die?” The guy couldn’t pay for healthcare and had to have medical attention to live. In the audience, one loud voice rang out ‘Yeah!’ while several others cheered.

Disgusting.

Get that? The Crowd shouts ‘yeah’ to ‘just let him die.’

Of course, this only for other people. If this person, or family member, needed medical attention, well, no price is too high. Please tell me that none of the “candidates” condoned this behavior.

  2. And for all of his blathering about “liberty”, Paul essentially said the same thing/

  3. Hmm..I don’t know what to say. Ron Paul is the guy I’ve been rooting for since 2008, but this comes as a complete shock. Not that the people were wooping, but he didn’t have a clear answer. Since he was the only candidate who didn’t suck, my only option is to move to Costa Rica.

  4. Two things:

First of all, I was totally disgusted with the tenor of the small portion of the debate I viewed. This segment only solidifies my disgust.

Second, the question of Wolf Blitzer is only partially correct. It is a good one, but it doesn’t get to the heart of the healthcare issue. He says a single guy just decides he doesn’t need the insurance because he doesn’t want to pay the meager $200/300 a month. It’s questions like this that get me disheartened.

I don’t have insurance and it’s not because I don’t WANT to have it. It’s because I can’t AFFORD it. I’m not single, but any premiums for even MAJOR medical insurance are so out of reach I just simply can’t get coverage. So, to the Tea Party, you are NOT solving my issue. And, it appears, YOU DON’T CARE!

    Some country.
