Jim’s wrong - self-hosting is a self-rewarding thing, even with the occasional hacks (which WordPress.com does suffer every other month or so). Daniel Kirk suffered an attack today, and found a way to repair it. I hate that I wasn’t home because I wish I could have saved him some money.
See, mine was attacked as well. One of the free ways I fix it is through this step.
But the other way, especially in a redirect attack, is to restore your .htaccess file. Restore to a previous day’s file, and then delete the old one.
Free. Simple. And I get to add java and all sorts of stuff to my blog…
