Joel Landon Watts is a Masters of Theological Studies student with a focus in Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark. His interests include exploring the role of mimesis in human civilization, specifically in the study of religion and media, as well as science fiction and the way in which it has allowed mythology to be explored in light of scientific ideals of the past century. Currently, he is a TA for Old Testament at United Theological Seminary under Dr. Vivian Johnson, Associate Professor of Old Testament. His first book, Rhetorical Strategies of the Evangelist: Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark, is expected to be published by Wipf and Stock early next year. He is currently co-editing a book on moving from Fear to Faith (Energion, 2013).

  2. Well, I sure would appreciate a copy of the book. I’ve been following Unsettled Christianity for some time, and the dialogue about it has been pretty fascinating. That being said, I’m sure there are plenty of others who would also benefit from having a copy. Best of luck to my fellow respondents.

  3. Looks interesting.

  4. Count me in.

  5. Definitely.

  6. how can i not say anything. don’t give it to me, rather, if you pick me randomly, then I choose the person who is east of the mississippi. (lolololol)

  7. The relationship between spriritual man and scientist has been one of my favorite themes since high school. I would enjoy a copy.

  8. Free book? I can do without a book. What I can’t do without is learning. I have very little understanding of the issues presented in this book, but I believe it would prove a valuable introduction to a topic that requires understanding and thought.

  9. I believe this book is less than 6000 years old.

  10. I’m trying to get rid of books, but just the other day the seminary was giving the last away from their book sale so they didn’t have to pack up, and several books stuck to me and came home with me. So I really, really don’t need any more books and I already have one by Francis Collins. But I don’t have anything at all by Karl Giberson. Hummina hummina — I do love science and religion stuff — & I did get rid of a box of books just recently, which was very disciplined of me . . . a little room on the shelves again . . . hmmmm

    Okay . . . is it good????

Because I don’t want it unless it’s good.

    . . . is it?
