  • So, this is what it looks like from the top…
  • Hey, I can see Jim West from here…
  • Depraved dilettantish
  • I don’t believe number 6 exists, triply so.
  • My heart is strangely warmed

That’s it…

I don’t like this position anymore. I can’t complain about Jim now.

Ugh.

Joel L. Watts holds a Masters of Arts from United Theological Seminary with a focus in literary and rhetorical criticism of the New Testament. His interests include exploring the role of mimesis in human civilization, specifically in the study of religion and media, as well as science fiction and the way in which it has allowed mythology to be explored in light of scientific discoveries of the past century. He is the author of Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark: Introduction and Commentary (Wipf and Stock, 2013) and a co-editor and contributor to From Fear to Faith: Stories of Hitting Spiritual Walls (Energion, 2013).

  2. My condolences; there’s nowhere now but down…ever read Hope for the Flowers?

    : )
    James

  3. Congratulations! Enjoy your short-lived reign. As I’m up from 47 to 18, I may be knocking you off that top slot soon!

  4. Congrats! (Does this count towards the give-a-way?)

  5. Does this mean that we’re all supposed to start complaining about you and cheering for Jim now? I’m not sure if I can handle that.

    Congrats.

  6. Of course it does not mean you have to stop complaining about Jim W, he can take it! But it may mean he will start complaining about you now, oh, no, wait, he already has ;)

  7. [...] Jeremy Thompson has the new Biblioblog Top 50 ready for the viewing. Congrats to Joel Watts for taking the lead, though he seems to be a little disillusioned. [...]

  8. Congrats. Let’s start voting for number one now. lol

  9. well done kid. (and the rest of you sorry pagans who never congratulated me once in the years i was #1- a pox on your bloody homes!!!!!)

  10. Every time I see Number Six I think of Patrick McGoohan. (But he is not a number; he is a real man.)

    • Number 6, Neil, believes that everything beyond his generation is a myth and part of a scholastic conspiracy.

      • Hmmmmm . . . . fiction and life intertwine evermore. Patrick McG, Number Six, MAY have been Number One. It is left ambiguous in the series.

Is it possible that you and Number Six are –?

        — oh, never mind. I just checked out the blog. Clearly you are separate entities; no ambiguity there. Congrats on Number Oneness!

  11. David A. says

Well done, I think this will last. Jim West’s postings have become very “samey” of late.

  12. If I were Jim, I’d ask for a recount. :-)

  13. I’m linking to this page again, all month long. May your reign last at least another month, that is, until I pull the rug out from underneath you if you’re not nice to me.

    ;-)

    • hahahhahahahahahaha

      • I got to thinking Joel. If you want to make a pact with the devil, I mean me, I need to stay above 5th place or I will take my Biblioblogger badge down, and with it my link to this page every month. So you might consider linking to me a few times a month if only to point out how bad you think my arguments are.

        Just saying…

  14. Joel,

You’re opinionated, conceited, ugly, and stupid.

You’re a knuckle-dragging conservative neanderthal who unfairly moderates your blog and blogs too much on current events and not enough on the bible.

It is incredible that there are enough idiots out there who read you blog to make you number one. There is surely no accounting for taste.

You’re only #1 by one ranking system. You’re 63.5 on all the others. We should start a new ranking system and stop feeding your clearly massive ego.

    And you smell bad too.

There. Feel like #1 now? ;-)

  15. joel just remember 1 thing- critics are like eunuchs. they know what’s supposed to happen. they just cant manage it themselves. that describes the opinions of ALL the people chuck describes above.

  16. Reading the blog of number 6, his number probably should be 666!
