Joel L. Watts holds a Masters of Arts from United Theological Seminary with a focus in literary and rhetorical criticism of the New Testament. His interests include exploring the role of mimesis in human civilization, specifically in the study of religion and media, as well as science fiction and the way in which it has allowed mythology to be explored in light of scientific discoveries of the past century. He is the author of Mimetic Criticism of the Gospel of Mark: Introduction and Commentary (Wipf and Stock, 2013) and a co-editor and contributor to From Fear to Faith: Stories of Hitting Spiritual Walls (Energion, 2013).

I assume there will be cotton candy and popcorn, right?
Doug, Is this the perfect place for a carnival or what? I mean this blog is already a circus.
It would be sooooo cool if Joel could have circus music playing when you clicked on the Carnival post.
Doug, I did that with a cowbell noise before on the blog rankings.
I like the circus. I am all geared up for the next carnival. I have bought reserve tickets for front row seats and look forward to the monkeys and clowns.
[...] is also a monthly Biblical Studies Carnival. This month it will be hosted by Unsettled Christianity. Joel Watts, who started that blog, is also hoping to edge out long-time #1 biblioblogger Jim West. [...]
I just posted a reminder as part of a post that offers an introduction to biblioblogs, which might or might not be worth including.
Joel, it’s a long time since I have participated in one of these, but I do enjoy a good circus. So do you want serious contributions, or more light-hearted ones? Either way I guess Camping’s non-rapture will be celebrated at this carnival. So I will offer you a choice of submissions: less seriously, The Rapture: will we be clothed or naked?; or for some more meat Harold Camping: once Reformed, now a heretic.
Thanks, Peter
