As you can see, the temperature has clearly been a lot higher in the past, when “technology” can not be responsible.
The Fox expose` then goes on to trace the source of the misinformation and try to uncover some reasons for it.

Just because there’s been warming in the past for reasons other than an excess amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere does not mean that today’s warming isn’t due to technology (or, more specifically, our use and abuse of it). Additionally, the warming/cooling of the past is of little consequence to human beings today, as our environment will very clearly be negatively affected by warming regardless of its source. Our coastal populations will be decimated as the oceans rise, the increasing acidification of the oceans will destroy the economy of whatever coastal populations are left, and those who are left will be displaced populations, immigrating to ever smaller population centers, increasing population density to untenable levels (to say nothing of the world’s food supply, which will be contracting just as we’re reaching 9-10 billion people).
Furthermore, today’s problem is arguably worse precisely because the warming almost certainly isn’t due to natural causes. Whereas yesterage’s environment course-corrected perfectly naturally, the unnatural element to today’s warming makes that unlikely. Rather, we’ve created a system in which warming feeds into more CO2 in the air, feeds into more warming, etc.
Finally, I’m guessing that the IPCC’s “proof” of global warming consists of more than a single chart. But even if it didn’t, both of your charts clearly show that warming is taking place. The question Fox’s “exposé” seems interested in answering is one of what’s causing the warming to take place. Which is a perfectly legitimate question to investigate (though, as an aside, Fox would hardly be the first place I’d look for a perfectly legitimate investigation). It is unquestionable, however, that warming is taking place, that it will have negative, perhaps catastrophic consequences, and that we ought to do whatever we can to prevent that from taking place.
