Lou Engle urges Americans to Invade Canada for God

Well, not really invade – but don’t think he is not thinking about it that way:

First, from here:

This summer, exactly 40 years after Woodstock, thousands of young, and young at heart, will descend on Vancouver, British Columbia, to cry out to God for a new movement in Canada and the nations of the earth. Biblically 40 years marks the close of a season. With this in mind, TheCRY team believes God is on the move across Canada and wanting to bring an end to a season of immorality, perversion and rebellion by ushering in something totally new. We believe He wants, and already is, ushering in a movement that will baptize a generation with the spirit of holiness and passion for JESUS.

TheCRY is not like anything most Christians have ever experienced. It is a full day of dynamic prayer, worship and fasting with thousands of other believers. Though there are always well known worship bands and ministers that are leading throughout the day, names and bands are not advertised.

The leadership of TheCRY explains this saying, “Our desire is that people would not come because we have marketed big names or Christian celebrities (though we are not necessarily opposed to that in other settings), we want people to come to meet with one big name, Jesus Christ, and to CRY out for this awesome nation that He loves and is asking for [Psalm 2]…” TheCRY is a grass roots interdenominational and intergenerational movement of those who are passionate for Jesus and believe in the power of prayer and fasting to impact Canada for righteousness sake.

The purpose of this is rooted in numerology:

Every generation, every city and every nation has moments. Moments where everything changed. Moments where movements were sparked and propelled. Moments that determined cultural shifts and the moral DNA of the masses. The summer of 69 – exactly 40 years ago this summer – was one of those moments. On August 15th, 1969, thousands of young people gathered in the spirit of sexual immorality and rebellion in a time that came to be known as the sexual revolution. It marked a generation and changed the history of nations. Biblically 40 years marks the close of a season. With this in mind, we believe God is on the move across North America and wanting to bring an end to a season of immorality, perversion and rebellion by ushering in something totally new. We believe He wants – and already is – ushering in a movement that will baptize a generation with the spirit of holiness and passion for JESUS.

It sounds biblicaly, doesn’t it – 40 years and all, but applying biblical things does not make it biblical. Lou Engle and the rest of the TheCall/TheCry are attempting to remake geo-political entities into the Kingdom of God. Yet, we are commanded to leave the things of this world alone, and not to engage in their wars.

They are calling for generals, that’s right, generals:

Ramping into TheCRY will be a series of Canadian Oil meetings where generals of this movement of reformation and revival will be imparting the word of the Lord for this key window of time. Speakers at these meetings will be: Stacey Campbell, Patricia King, Charlie Robinson, Lou Engle, Faytene Kryskow and others.

  5. No, Vanessa, it’s not about Christ – it’s about politics, and undermining the very foundations of Western Democracies. Go camping instead. Go somewhere else. The only thing you will get at TheCry is hogwash. Please, Vanessa, the theology of this group is awful.

  6. I’m not sure I’m following… Where’s the bible verse for not engaging in the world? It says be in the world, but not of it… you can’t win a single soul for Christ if you are never engaging the world.
And what about God dedicating entire books of the bible to different kings and whether they did good or evil, specifically sending prophets to counsel or anoint kings (politicians), or Jesus telling His disciples to go and make disciples of nations? I think God is pretty in to politics… or at least the people in them. And even in the New Testament, Jesus called His disciples “apostles”, a military word at the time for the soldiers in the Roman army that would go into a culture and completely reform it to look like Rome instead of the country it started out as. And in Acts people talked about the apostles and said “they’ve turned the entire world upside down”.  1 Timothy  tells us to pray first for our leaders and those in authority before we pray for anything else.
Anyways, I don’t see anything wrong with praying for our country, or trying to make it better,  even if the language in the article isn’t what we’re used to! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens!

  8. Sarah,

    First,

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. (2Ti 2:4 NKJ)

What Paul was telling Timothy was something that the Legionaries knew – they were soldiers, not politicians. This world is not our home, Sarah, we should not attempt to make it so. Our goal is to win souls to Christ, not win elections. Engaging the world is fine, but when you deem it necessary to set up the Kingdom here, then you have forgotten what the bible is about.

Second, Israel was a theocracy – we are not. Israel was God’s people, but under this Covenant, the Church is, not some country. The term nations has been sorely misused, purposely, but means a people, not a political unit. The only nation that God is concerned about now is His Church, not the United States or Canada.

Your understanding of ‘apostle’ is very wrong, and telling of your mission. Apostle means ‘sent one’ was more of an ambassador. They were not warriors, but generally bore the message of the One who sent them. You need to pick up a lexicon or Greek Grammar. Further, check out these posts, please:

I never that there was anything wrong with praying for one’s leaders, as it says in Romans 13, but the Dominionist mantra goes beyond praying, and instead calls for martyrs. You would do well to remain inside with the bible instead of attending that place.

  9. They’ve regrouped up here, don’t go over as well because of nationalism.

They’ve been working with 4myCanada (Faytene Krystow) to pull in neo-charismatic young people.  We have our share of dominionists,  and theocrats.
We sent Bentley south of the 49th.:^(
Battlesford Sask. is the birthplace of the Latter Rain movement.

As well the SBC has targeted Vancouver because of the Olympics.
It’ll be interesting to see what the attendence is.

I pray kids reject Engle and what they call “The Cry” up here.

  11. Thanks, Bene. As you can see, at least two of your fellow citizens will attend.

  12. John Payzant says

Back in 2004, recovering from a brain in 2000, went to Worship Invasion, Ed,Wendy Rubuliak,Glad Tidings Church, in Vancouver; Todd Bentley Fresh Fire Abbotsford; Extreme Prophetic Vancouver, Faytene Kryskow

All this was new to me

All of the above are linked

I look at things closely, an A Student in Law 12 at School, probably alarmed the above

    Now I know why

They are New Apostolic Revolution and they didn’t like to let on about it

    But here comes me

So, either it was a Prophetic Vision not checked our or just plain old dirly pool

2004 June, Just come back from Fresh Fire was at Peace Portal Alliance in Surrey, Worship Invasion Venue

They slandered me saying, ‘You cannot ever go to a Fresh Fire again because you prayed over a woman and took the ring off of her finger”

Ed Rubuliak was terrible speaking in tongues without interpretating

    They’ve never been there since

Went to Extreme Prophetic after that, Faytene Kryskow knew all about this said, “John Paysar I don’t like you we own the building I rebuke you in the name of Jesus’

The building is owned by Killarney Community Center

The Salvation Army War College rents it

They let Faytene use the building and they will never do it again

I’m on Bene Diction regarding this
