Sid Roth’s (False) Messianic Vision: An Appearance By the Archangel Michael Walters

I posted on Sid Roth a long, long time ago, and yet he is constantly being viewed. As a matter of fact, my original post is third in Google’s search for Sid Roth. Not only is that pretty cool in of itself, but more people have a chance of seeing the truth about Sid when they go looking for a lie.

via Sid Roth’s Messianic Vision: An Appearance By the Archangel Michael Walters

Kathie Walters and Sid Roth ministered at a conference in North Carolina in mid July. The following is Kathie’s report from the Saturday night meeting where Sid spoke.

This is the vision I had Saturday night when Sid was speaking — I had a glimpse of an angel with some blue on him.* But behind him I suddenly saw the biggest angel I have ever seen. He was golden and he had huge wings. This is first time I have seen an angel with wings like that. I almost got off my seat and under the chair. It was the Archangel Michael.

Amazing that she knew automatically that this was Michael, especially since this ‘vision’ is starkly different than Ezekiel’s (Chapter 1).

Each God-appointed ministry or church has an angel who is appointed over it. There are other angels involved in that work of course but there is one who will be appointed over it and the other angels work in the ministry under the main angel. These angels are different from the ones who are appointed to minister to us personally.

Michael is the only angel to have had the affairs of a nation in his charge. (Daniel, chapters 10 and 12), yet no where else do we see a named angel who has affairs of a nation. In Revelation, which is where Kathie is sure to go refers to the seven angels of the seven churches, yet it takes more than a cursory examination to understand exactly what is meant by this, or else you mind end up with patron saints, guardian angels and Sid Roth. From Barnes,

(a) The word “angel” is employed in the Old Testament to denote a prophet; that is, a minister of religion as sent by God to communicate his will. Thus in Hag_1:13 it is said, “Then spake Haggai, the Lord’s messenger (Hebrew: angel, מלאך יהוה  mal’ak Yahweh – Septuagint: ἄγγελος κυρίου  angelos kuriou, in the Lord’s message unto the people,” etc.

(b) It is applied to a priest, as one sent by God to execute the functions of that office, or to act in the name of the Lord. Mal_2:7, “for the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts” – מלאך יהוה צבאות  mal’ak Yahweh tsebaa’owt – that is,” angel of the Lord of hosts.”

(c) The name prophet is often given in the New Testament to the ministers of religion, as being appointed by God to proclaim or communicate his will to his people, and as occupying a place resembling, in some respects, that of the prophets in the Old Testament.

(d) There was no reason why the word might not be thus employed to designate a pastor of a Christian church, as well as to designate a prophet or a priest under the Old Testament dispensation.

(e) The supposition that a pastor of a church is intended will meet all the circumstances of the case; for:

(1)    it is an appropriate appellation;
(2)    there is no reason to suppose that there was more than one church in each of the cities referred to;
(3)    it is a term which would designate the respect in which the office was held;
(4)    it would impress upon those to whom it was applied a solemn sense of their responsibility.

Kathie is wrong, of course, but she might be more careful if she or Sid had read Galatians (or any of the Bible, really)

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:6-8 NKJV)

Let’s get back to Kathie,

There had been a lot of interference in the Spirit in the meeting and a wrestling. I know that intercessors were praying all over on Saturday night, and they didn’t even know what they were praying for. When I saw Michael, then I realized why the strong spiritual resistance to Sid.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places – the Apostle Paul

As I saw Michael suddenly come, I knew in my spirit that God was calling Sid to signs and wonders in Israel. During the daytime the Lord kept saying to me: “The Jews require a sign and they will have signs, and many healings and miracles.” The Messiah, Yeshua, the Deliverer, the Healer, and the restorer, the forgiver of sins, will demonstrate His power in Israel in signs and wonders.

Would the Lord stand against Paul’s writings?

For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.  (1 Corinthians 1:22-25 NKJV)

Of even contradict something that He Himself has said?

“Then if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Christ!’ or “There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, “Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or “Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. (Matthew 24:23-28 NKJV)

He condemned the need for signs and wonders in John 4.48, so why then would Christ use them now?

Again, we return to Paul, who like Christ, foretold of the End when signs and wonders would accompany the Man of Sin.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 NKJV)

How do people believe?

Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ. (Romans 10:17 NET)

So then, it is not what is seen, but what is heard, how else could it be called faith?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)

  1. I’m glad I saw your explanation of this Sid Roth guy and brought out the truth through the scriptures.

I have just had the ‘eyes of my heart’ opened by the Lord…He RAN to me after years of brokenness. I have been visiting different christian ntwks and happened up on this Sid Roth “supernatural” show last night. He was speaking with Marc Lawson…who was telling about an encounter with a young guy in a Goodwill store wearing a halo cast and barely able to walk. He said ‘I wanted to have some fun…asked the young fellow if he was in much pain…from 1 to 10…the guy answered he was about a 13…following severe auto accident and was very young. He asked if he minded if he prayed with him…then laid hands on him (showed a dramatization of it) and stated the kid’s neck and face turned all red…then he grabbed the device from his body and virtually ran around the store…then people lined up, stating, “Do Me Next.” I felt a weird feeling…I am new to things of the Lord and His word, but felt this feeling just that you described, about FAITH…being the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Faith comes from what is heard and comes through the preaching of Christ (Romans 10:17) I feel like they were making a mockery in these last days…I do believe Satan is using people like him…deceiving young, naive people or people desperate for that healing….God hears our faith-filled prayers and does heal us in His will. I know enough to know that this is a dangerous way of profiting for money…using God. I feel He will have a lot to answer for deceiving sick and hurting people who only need a touch from the Saviour…not a man with enough bucks to get on TV.
    God Have Mercy…..

    Victoria….thanks for your posting…I appreciate it….

  2. Where does it state the Lord can not send Angels as provision over a certain occasion? I’m not saying the Lord did send anything or anyone to that studio but what I’m asking is “Could He if He so pleased?”

Where does the Scripture point that we should condemn this man guilty or not?

  3. I think I’ve read just about enough of your blogs. All I know is that we need to pay more attention to the nature of God. Understand Jesus didn’t come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it. And we need to take Him at His word. Get in touch with your Jewish roots. Pray for Israel and for all it’s nation. PSA 1:1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

Fall in love with your first Lover again. God bless you.

    Good bye.

    • Hey Chanok. Stay strong and keep faith. Remember that Paul said in the last days there will be people who worship the Lord but deny the power thereof and of those people stay away. It goes back to avoiding the leven of the pharisees Jesus spoke of. Paul echoes the same thing. We are in those last days now.

Remember, the Parisees knew scripture but not God believing that life was in the scriptures they had memorized and quoted in the synagogues. As Jesus commanded, Let them alone for they are blind guides. and if the blind lead the blind they both fall into a pit. Just keep ministering, loving, and strengthening the brothers.

      • Oh let me count the ways you’ve mis-applied scripture… I used to be like you Josh… arrogant, trying to stand in for God. a real know it all… like your display here. I regret those days… and I pray that you cone to regret your arrogance here… before it is too late. I pity you, Joshua. you truly need grace… not mockery… I pray that you will find it if it is still available to you

        • Joel u better realize what u r doing. This posts u r doing were rather deserved to true Anti-Christs. you can not say sid is an anti Christ, well Paul used to be aided with money from churches to preach the Gospel to gentiles. This does not make him an Anti-Christ. well for your own shame this is not the way to analyze prophets. upgrade your self. Well English is not my mother tongue if you had a hard time reading my latest post.

          • Brook, are you that ignorant of Scripture you do not know what an AntiChrist is?

Go play somewhere else. I am tired of idiotic treatments of Scripture

  4. sid roth is not a fake!! why would host his show for nothing, i just viewed his T.V show the other day he said “I wouldnt trade God’s Grace and wisdom even for 1 million dollars” IF HE IS FAKE GIVE ME PROOF!

  5. I have a co-worker who read a book about the Azusa Street Revival. It came through one of Sid Roth’s websites. First of all, I know a great deal about the Azusa Street revival and the stories in this book I never heard about them. I will have to check the book out more to decide on this issue. To get to the point, I saw Sid Roth on TV and I have to tell you for some reason, the guy gives me the “creeps and I do mean the “creeps.” I am not known for the gift of “discernment”(not my strong suit), but my gut instinct is pretty much always right, and as I said I did not get a good feeling watching Sid Roth. I am not going to say whether he is a fake or not (don’t need to get sued anyway), but there are plenty of fakes around. They are either in it for the $$$$$$, the power or attention (take your pick). P.S.-Sure Satan could also be behind it. I guess I believe in time, God will expose them. Until then, we need to quit reaching for things, because we are so desperate. Reach for Jesus!!!

  6. The Bible says are not all these ministering spirits sent to minister to them who shall be heirs of salvation. God is all in all , doesn’t need me or you to defend him Only requires that I stand on his word. Jesus said Think not that I am come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it. He also said that he did not come to abolish the Law , don’t try to tell me that you know more or are better equipped to tell me the scriptures than Jesus, after all HE IS THE WORD made flesh. No man not even you has all the answers but if we will believe the word of God nothing else will matter. Speak evil of no man but in everything give God the Glory. I don’t know this man Sid Roth but I don’t care who he is unless his teachings line up with Gods word, remember the Scripture itself says there is nothing new under the sun. We face the same Devil today as they did in OLD and NEW TESTAMENT times, and God has given us all power over all the powers of the enemy.

Thanks for reading and God Bless all in the forum

  7. If Sid Roth is your brother in Christ, then you need to love him. This was Christ's # 1 command – love one another as I have loved you. If he is deceived you need to pray for him. If you believe he is so deceived he is not a Christian, then you need to love him and pray for him because Christ commanded us to love our enemies. I see you are not doing what Paul did when he saw people preaching Christ – some for pure reasons and some for impure reasons. Whichever category you think Sid Roth is – he is preaching Christ – and Paul rejoiced that Christ was preached. Because the sowing of the word will bring a harvest regardless of the motives of the preacher. I pray you will see that the #1 command of Christ was love.

    • Um….I’ve seen a number of Sid’s shows that popped up when I’m researching this or that. Funny how his name always pops up when I’m looking up anything remotely connected to sensationalism. I never see him pop up when researching the great sermons on the discipline of holiness…the value of being true to your spouse, etc etc. Of the few programs I was able to endure through the end, NONE of them “preached,” and none of them preached the GOSPEL or the Christ of the Bible. They program wooed potential converts by amazing them with things that would enrich their lives with sensationalism and financial gain.

  8. Sid is preaching himself – he is not a brother in Christ – and his goal is to deceive those who are. Love isn't always a gentle feeling, but can be a harsh discipline and chastisement. Sid and those who support him need that type of love.

    • How do you know that Sid is not a brother in Christ? What indication did he give you? If he wasn’t a brother in Christ, then according to Luke 6:27-28, shouldn’t we love our enemies and do good to them which hate us? and bless them that curse us, and pray for them which despitefully use us? I’m just looking for clarity from your stand point.

        • why is it that sid is hosting a programme ( that is blessing millions all over the world) and not you or this deceived person who wrote this blog, since you seem to believe you are more righteous than him! I believe you need to pray for yourself that God will open your spiritual eyes to see the truth!

          • I am not comparing between a righteous and unrighteous, you claim to be a believer and therefore, where is the honour and anointing on you like Sid Roth has, Nero and Christians are not the same situation, if you were so full of spiritual revelation as to condemn a man of God then I am sure you would have audience like Sid Roth. I believe you are seriously deceived and there is no evidence of the love of Jesus in what and how you write and that should say everything to a true follower of Jesus. Again my prayer is that the eyes of your heart will be enlightened and that you will spend your time in the Word of God than passing judgement on the people of Yahwey.

  9. Wow I am just now reading this and even thought the replies are about a year ago I feel the need to express my symphathy to Victoria. I am sorry that you were “new to Christ” and stumbled across this doctorine. This blog offers just enough truth to decieve many!! I pray that those of you who genuinely seek God will come to know the FULLNESS of Him; the Great I Am!

  10. The only message I’ve ever seen on Sid Roth’s show is the message that God is All powerful. I don’t see any of Sid’s guest getting any glory, I don’t see Sid getting glory, I see all glory and honor being given to God through his son Jesus Christ! So what is he trying to deceive people by? So they believe God can do the things that GOD CAN DO, the things he says he will do, and the things Jesus said he left his Holy Spirit behind so that we can do the same and even GREATER! See God was against needing a sign before you can believe, but Faith and God and all the miracles that is talked about on Sid’s show come about AFTER they believe! Signs and wonders followed them that believed!!! Others (and it is SOOO evident by this blog) will either see and believe; or see and disbelieve and try to make others disbelieve. Hmm I wonder who wouldn’t want people to believe that miracles are real?? Think about it; and if all else fails and you “just don’t feel something is right” Pray to God ask his Holy Spirit to reveal to you the truth, God would let you know the truth and you would not be on the internet trying to disprove what a man of God does. It is not your duty to try to come against a man of God, and taking the bible and twisting the scriptures to apply your own doctorine.

    • You have just made our point. That’s the only thing you’ll see. You won’t hear the true Gospel.

  11. The point is you are not GOD, and you are in error, and you should be careful by putting your condeming words on the annointing of God. You are speaking against the wonder working power of God and that is a dangerous thing and if you feared the Lord you would know that.

  12. Obviously, you aren’t watching Sid Roth. Further, you aren’t using Scripture. Tell me, do you have Scripture enough to prove Sid Roth correct? No one else does, but you can try. And for goodness sake, it is doctrine. Not doctorine.

    • I NOW SENSE, YOU WERE THERE UP TO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF. CHECK YOUR HEART, I MAY NOT BE AS WELL VERSE IN THE BIBLE JUST LIKE YOU, BUT YOU HAVE LESS COMPASSION AND LOVE IN YOUR HEART. YOU SEEM LIKE THE PHARISEES OF PRESENT TIME. MAY YOU SEEK GOD AN JESUS FROM YOUR HEART.

      • Wow. Tell me, when did telling people the truth because uncompassionate? I have compassion and because of that, I tell the truth. Do you hate me because I tell people the truth? I think you do…

        • Finding spelling errors seems like a really passive-aggressive way to chastise people who don’t agree with you. You are a man who likes to be in control, and you desire others to be in agreement with you. I don’t think that any scripture could change your mind. Your hardness of heart is apparent. Instead, set your mind to the things of God and not the things of man. Your zeal for the Lord is Incredible!!!

          • Dude, speaking of control… You mean like going through the blog to find things to comment on…. To defend false prophets?

          • Jesus was a walking truth machine. Wherever he saw lies, he destroyed them. As He is so am I. If you love someone and see them caught up in a lie, you do all you can to destroy that lie and set them free. I don’t do this to attack you, I actually love you and desire your freedom to live in the fullness of God. But my war is against the lies of the devil.

          • So, you’re Jesus?

Actually – I could be just as arrogant as you and claim the same thing – and say that your father is the devil, but silly ad homs get us nowhere. Of course, neither does discoursing with someone who doesn’t know who to discourse or read Scripture.

          • John said we are called to walk like Christ walked. You misunderstand again. I’m not Jesus but I am to be like him. Love you!!!

          • Or maybe you just don’t write well enough. Say… when are you going to be crucified?

    • You are too sure of your own interpretation to see any other point of view. You are prideful and full of hate and wrath. It is like a cruel sarcastic joke when you tell people you “care” and will pray for them and accept prayer. I literally laughed out loud when I read the post where you claim you are compassionate. Ha! When? Where? You are about as far from God as a person can be without being a murderer. You eagerly question and squash others faith if it does not mirror your own. If you are truly like Christ, I would rather end up in Hell. And yes, I know, you are sure I will end up there as you have chosen yourself to be God’s proxy in this wicked world. I thank God He will be the one judging me, as you care only to condemn. You are in for a surprise when Judgement day comes if you do not learn to stop hating others as obviously as you do. No one wants to follow a brutish bully, and that’s pretty much how you come across with the whole “Quote scripture you moron or I will cut you down!” Maybe you should learn to interpret scripture from a less hateful place. I don’t think God wants us hating anyone for any reason. You seem to think it’s okay to hate to the point of name calling. Don’t bother telling me you will pray for me, you “love” me in Christ, because – no thank you, stop lying about loving in the name of God when it’s obvious you hate anyone who doesn’t agree with you. Your prayers are empty words as they come from a place of hate. All scripture is to you is a chance to prove you are so very right, and others are so very wrong. There is actual meaning to scripture, it’s not an empty set of instructions to be memorized and cherry picked to serve arrogant prideful righteousness. . You are so weak you attack simple typos or spelling mistakes in order to secure your empty victory over others. I believe you have it wrong. Woe to you who hate in the name of God.

  13. Sid is not anointed, but false. He is a false teacher and false prophet. No one here claimed to be God, but nice strawman. And in three comments, you haven’t yet quoted one once of Scripture.

  14. Now people , that call themselves christian, don’t understand what christian is,which a Messianic follower. Just because we adhere to the Greek Western style, doesn’t mean we replace Israel, Chosen By G-D. We are Gentiles, not worthy of Y-shua’s Sacrifice, but are because of Grace.
So Please don’t diss the Messianic Jews, The Time of Jacob’s trouble is Coming soon. Let’s Pray for All to Be caught up to meet Y-shua in heaven. If you Love Jesus ,Love all Jews.

      • So I was watching this episode with Sid Roth and Todd Bentley. All I have to say is it can be possible that Sid is spiritually lost
or just putting on a show to please people. He can be prayed for, but I’d be careful watching this guy Sid, I have love for Messainic Jews, but after seeing that show I was shocked that he supported Todd Bentley, who to me is a false teacher and healer. 1st Corinthians 2:15 15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. People shouldn’t be so into what is shown on TV or Youtube, but what believers should do is look into the Word and meditate on that and not on what men teach. This is the last hour and we should be aware of false teachers, false prophets, and false christs, for even the elect may be deceived if it were possible.

  15. Prophets speak with the authority the Word, so I, my seeding jackdawe brother, shall entreat you to see the fruits of the wonderworkers. Then I would add, Paul was human, if there were one to be in opposition, it would be Paul against God. If you were to put your faith in the scripture, then it is not the Word, and that was the Parisees’s failing. When you worship the letter of the law you miss the spirit, and in this case it is the Holy Spirit. I remind you also that the Enemy is quite adept at quoting scripture. So, watch not the roots; watch the fruits. But do not take my words to mean that the scripiture is of no import, when you accept the Word, the Holy Spirit, and Christ the Savior into your soul, then will you be reminded of the scripture for time when you will need it. Men are hollow shells of dust and only with the Light gifted us by divine grace are we made hallowed that we might enter Heaven and the presence of our God. The dead rise, the deaf hear, the blind see, and Delores Winder who had had four spinal fusion the nerves at the base of her skull surgically burned out, paralysis being the least of the side-effects. She is walking about and healing in the name of God today. Signs and wonders are nothing to shun, and doing so is a hair shy of blaspheming, if that. You sight the Greek and Hebrew, above no? Well, “מַלְאַ֨ךְ יְהוָ֜ה” (or mal·’ach Yah·weh, for those don’t have Hebrew script or can’t read it) is a phrase which literal means ‘messenger Yahweh’ (note: in Hebrew descriptors follow the word they describe, and that Hebrew), is in the English vocabulary summed up in the word angel, so it lacks validity to debate . Word play is a fool’s dance, truth is found only in God. Angels have had different visages, always applicable to the mission and message. “Amazing that she knew automatically that this was Michael, especially since this ‘vision’ is starkly different than Ezekiel’s (Chapter 1).” Actually, had she said she knew because the image was the same as in Ezekiel, I would have doubted her honesty; instead she knew by the Spirit. This is consistance other witnesses which were accompanied by the fruits of healings and fulfilled prophecy so I am inclined to believe her. Watch the fruits. Did the prophecy come to past? Were there miracles, signs, and wonders?

So of the fruits how might you judge these words? As a prophet of the Lord your God, there is a war of the spirit upon the world and it will change the world as the teachings of God are assualted by the religions of the Enemy. This spiritual war will come to be echoed in the conflicts and wars among the nations. You will see the religions of Satan’s design join forces to seek the destruction of Christiandom and Israel. So watch for Islam, Marxists, and Secularists to make alliances or to support each other’s attacks. This latter has already begun, for an example see the Marxist-Muslim rebellion in Kenya of the 1960’s. The Lord tells me the this war shall on the scale and import of the Last Battle and the time and the pains in Revealation, but Lord does not reveal to me if this shall be the time of the fulfillment of Revealation, or simplely a comparable war. This is the last of an epoch: the end of an age. Was the numerous fire and earthquakes a sign of the end times or just an oppertunity to help; was the great Gulf of Mexico oil spill the bowl pouring out and the sea turning to blood of a dead man; is Saudi Aribia whore of Babylon as some have suggested of late? These are not for me to know. But the war is here.

    Watch the fruits.

  16. Dianej32, I think Christ #1 command would be to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.

  17. Dear Joel,

To say Love can be a harsh discipline and chastisement seems in contradiction to 1 Corinthians 13 4-7
“4Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” [from the ESV bible]

If I am wrong, please, show me how.

  18. Jesus was continually insulted by the Pharisees in the Gospel of John. They even accused him of being possessed by a demon when He cured a man of being blind (John 10:20). But “can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”(John10:21) Jesus said His miracles came from His Father (John 10:31).
“For which of these do you stone me?”(John 10:31). He also said:”No servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”(John 15:20)

  19. In truth, the topic is Jesus healing people. As a medical doctor we don’t even get close to the type of healing Jesus did and still does. By my observation, He begins by healing the heart (leb).

    • No, the topic is not if Christ can and still does heal people, but whether or not Sid Roth is preaching a false gospel

  20. I was not speaking about David Koresh or Sid Roth. But since you brought it up, are you making the statement that all the people who appear on Sid Roth’s show are preaching a false Gospel or just Sid himself? Also you could clarify how one really knows that they are serving God (epistemologically)?

  21. Unfortuntely your original post on Sid Roth has been deleted. I presume that Sid Roth believes 1 Corinthians 12:1-12. I presume you are a cessationist. If this is true why should I believe you rather than what God says in His Word?
With so many young people getting involved in the occult what will you do when some kid wants to get out of being a hostage to satan walks into your church? What are you going to do?

    • Actually, I haven’t deleted any posts with Sid Roth, nor am I a cessationist, just one who believes in Scripture.

Many are made hostage to satan through such people as Sid Roth. For me, I encourage biblical studies which helps to clear up a lot of the garbage that you see in TV

  22. I SENSE YOU HAVE SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE IN YOUR HEAD. YOU ARE CAREFULLY, DISSECTING EVERY WORD OF THE BIBLE THAT MAY HELP PEOPLE THINKING. BUT I ALWAYS TRUST THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IN ALL THESE THINGS. IF IT IS NOT FROM HIM HE WILL REVEAL IT TO US. PRAY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP YOU FULLY RECOGNIZE WHAT’S HIS AND WHAT’S NOT. SOMETIMES, WE TEND TO WEIGH THINGS BASED ON OUR KNOWLEDGE AND WHAT WE LEARNED THROUGH THE YEARS AND NOT WHAT THE LORD’S IS IMPARTING TO US. DON’T BE JUDGMENTAL SO EASILY. LET TIME WAITS AND PRAY, YOU WILL SEE ALL TRUTH. MAY JESUS CHRIST BE AT THE CENTER OF YOUR HEART AND THOUGHTS.

    • Wow… yeah, that knowledge thing is awful ain’t. Sure, we are commanded to study and to test, try, and prove based on that study, but why would we want to do that? I mean, let’s just let anything into the Church and call it good. That way, when every is led astray we can just shrug our shoulders and say “I didn’t know that.’

  23. When I click on “my original post is third on Google”, there is nothing there. I am just trying to understand why you are making comments about Sid Roth preaching a false gospel. Is he a modalist? Does he not believe in the hypostatic union? Does he not believe in inerrancy or infallibity? Does he not believe in the impeccability of Jesus Christ? What are your accusations and are they substantial?

  24. From your post, your premise about Sid Roth is that he believes “that through the cross we should be healed” in addition to salvation. Sid equates “sickness” with “evil” and you believe he is a “name it, claim it” guy. You believe all prosperity preachers are going to hell. Is this what you are trying to say?

Could you answer a few questions (thoughtfully and not short, curt answers) ? Do you believe that Christianity is a religion of healing? Why or Why not. Have you ever prayed for someone in your church to be healed (physical, mental , spiritual illness)? Have you ever been very sick or has someone in your family such as a child been sick with a chronic or lethal illness and the doctors don’t know what is going on? Thank you ahead of time, Joel.

    • First, I don’t believe that ‘everyone’ is going to ‘hell’. I do believe that ALL prosperity preachers are preaching a false gospel.

Christianity is a religion of Salvation, the healing of the soul by God. I do believe that we seek God for the healing of our bodies – but it is our souls that concerns Him most.

I have prayed, and seen others pray, and have seen them healed and have been healed.

But, salvation doesn’t include healing, nor healing salvation.

      • It’s the renewing of our spirits. The spirit is different from the soul. Jesus died so we can be “sozo” (greek meaning saved, healed, delivered, made whole)

  25. Maybe you should review what you wrote in your post “Sid Roth, sickness, and foolish people”. I quote your words: “He, like every prosperity preacher, is going to hell.” Good thing that we are not God. I do believe God holds us responsible for what we say.

Actually I am more concerned about what you are writing in your blogs than what Sid Roth has written in his statement of Faith.

    • yes, but the nuance of it is hell vs. ‘hell’.

The thing about a blog is that it is a continuing conversation… unless Sid repents, he will spend time in hell as he is continuing to reject Christ and impugn the gospel.

      • I don’t know what to think. I love these blogs though. Sid Roth sometimes gives me the heebie-jeebies, and at other times I think that if the people garner some faith in Christ because of his message then it must be ok. I will say that the Holy Spirit is our guide to the truth through Christ Jesus, and thus the Father. I am all too aware of how many people claim to know and love God but can’t quote scripture, and don’t know the bible well at all – and so for those people Sid Roth might be just enough nourishment to encourage them to look a little harder – because God can take lemons and make lemonade – even from Sid’s simple message, especially for those that have untested faith who watch his show. I always noticed that Sid’s prayers on the show are very broad and very non-specific whereas not too long ago I received an inner-ear healing from watching 700 Club. I pray to God to show me, and have been on the side-streets and on the main roads in my own lifetime with the Lord, and let me tell you, if you seek you will find, and if you ask, it shall be given you, so if anyone doubts gold dust signs, angel feathers fluttering from heaven, and God’s money baskets (all Sid Roth segments) by all means ask God and let him show you the way. I think that whether or not his message is mostly false, for the blissfully unaware it might be what they need to hear, which may push them into the bible. Because lets face it God always wins those he is after. Everyone needs to remember that they too were once not well versed in scripture, and that God develops testimony differently in everyone. My testimony is mostly through my failure and the pure Grace the Lord has shown me. I have a very strong voice when it comes to quoting scripture, scaring people off and looking like a jerk. I only recently began to try to tone down my voice, so the Lord’s could be heard. Jesus doesn’t have to shout to be heard, so I guess neither do I. I think the main reason this blogger is annoyed, is whether or not Sid Roth is a false prophet, and he may be – but he must encourage some people, and God looks after those people – and their salvation is in God’s hands, and God is the one who paid for their meal ticket into the great feast, so let God show the individual, as he shows you, and as he surely shows me. Whoever wrote the main blog, just so you personally know, I mostly agree about Sid Roth – but let me share that I live in Israel, and prayed with some people here and taught them about Jesus and faith, in my own inner circle, not a ministry setting – and talking bluntly and telling people in a round about way that they are dumb (is totally me) but is also TOTALLY WRONG. Preach the Love of Christ – anything else in my experience thus far, isn’t our responsibility. I can’t carry them on my merrits into heaven, and they can’t carry me.

By the way I live in Israel, and with or without Sid Roth these people need prayer, there is a major spiritual battle in this country. At this moment I know a 26 year old, and a 4 year old with cancer. They need prayer people. God may not supernatuarally heal them, but he sure can – I just don’t know if any angel feathers will drop when he does. I have seen God work, and he is quiet. If angel feathers and gold dust were God’s “signs” EVERYONE WOULD BELIEVE. God uses doctors, people, and many means to heal people – and faith is key. I could write forever. God bless.

  26. Ok, my only question is: Did God himself tell you Sid Roth is fake? Did you ever seek God about this or are you just taking scriptures and using that as a basis for your argument?

And if you believe God told you Sid Roth is fake, then did you test the spirit or spirits which told you so?

    • Erika,

The Scriptures are our guide. Are you saying that God will tell you something different than the Scriptures, or are the Scriptures somehow a deficit?

  27. No, what I am saying is that you need to be led by the Holy Spirit and before you begin to accuse people of certain things, have a direct answer from God. This is the exact reason why there are so many different sectors of Christianity. Baptists don’t advocate speaking in tongues, Catholics believe it’s okay to pray to saints and now, there are those who believe homosexuality is not a sin. How is it that 10 people can read the same scripture and come up with different reasonings?

So, that’s why I am asking you did God personally speak to you about Sid Roth, not through scriptures but you hearing the Holy Spirit say something directly to you.

Thanks for getting back so soon.

    • So, again, ignore Scripture. The Spirit speaks through Scripture, so says Scripture. If you hear anything other than what is confirmed by Scripture, you are only hearing your own little voices.

      • The Word of God is living and breathing. God told Abraham to sacrifice his son. Then he told him not to. A highly legalstic man would have counselled Abraham and said, wait a minute brother, God is the same yesterday today and forever. The voice you heard couldn’t have been God.

It is important to know that the scripture only becomes the word of God when Holy Spirit breathes on it. This is where legalism and using the logic system of the world leads people astray. I believe you could take the Holy Spirit out of many people and it wouldn’t change one thing they taught others, lived their lives, or interpreted scriptures.

        • Dude, are you just pulling this stuff out of thin air? How else do you explain your poor reading and poorer applicant of the Text? It would be funny, if it wasn’t so very, very sad.

          • No, from the Word of God which you read but don’t understand. It is hard to make sense of when you trying to understand it from the viewpoint of the world.

          • Yes, I agree. You have the ‘viewpoint of the world.’ I will pray for you.

          • Thanks for praying Joel!!!. just do it out of love or it matters not. Love you!!

  28. That individual who is criticizing Sid Roth needs to be very careful what he says…

Thus saith the Lord. “I will bless them that bless thee, and i will curse them that curse the”

Sounds like a very bitter individual, you need to repent and ask for God’s forgiveness.

    p.s Well said Erika!

  29. Joel :
Thank, Patricia. I always appreciate prayer.

I am praying that God reveals the truth to you about Him and Sid Roth. Promise me that when God does, you will repent to God and apologize to sid Roth and the rest of your hearers on this site.

Be expecting a visitation from God at any moment now concerning this deception of Satan. So today ask God to reveal the truth to you and if He tells you that Sid Roth is deceiving us, please let us know. This is not a joke. Do it!

God loves you and He wishes that not any of His children are deceived.

    • No worries – He has. His Word says easily enough – Sid Roth carries words from the pit.

As far as ‘visitation’, I hope that you do two things. Learn the theological significance of that word and no longer speak for God.

      • Joel, how about you learn the Biblical meaning of “visitation”: 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 provides a nice summary of those passages, as written by Paul:

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. ”

So are you saying that the word of God is a lie. Are you saying that Jesus does not reveal Himself to people similarly today. Don’t you remember that God visited, Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and it goes on and on.

Does not the Bible say, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. ” Hebrews 13:8. So what facts do you have to prove that God has not visited anyone today.

Joel, I don’t claim to be a Biblical scholar or have necessarily studied the theological significance of the word “visitation,” My testimony is mostly by personal experience, believe it or not. The Bible says, “We walk by faith and not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7. It’s supernatural. Does that sound familiar to you.

However, I will not waste my time sharing my supernatural testimonies with you, because I don’t want you to commit possible blasphemy again; not Sid, you.

In conclusion, Jesus told us to expect miracles, signs and wonders, so if you can’t come up with facts about everything you have said against Sid, then you need to stop speaking for God yourself. Don’t you think your concerns would be best handled through prayer instead of putting down God beloved son, Sid.

By the way, how do you know so much about the pit?

        • No, Patricia. The word ‘visitation’ actually cares more theological weight to it than a mere appearing. It means a great deal more. I would suggest that you read the literature of the time, namely Wisdom and a few of the Dead Sea Scrolls. By the way, this will help inform you of several things inside the NT.

I doubt your testimonies because you are ill-informed about what the bible actually says about these things. It is not blasphemy to say such things – but it is a lie to speak about things you know not of and apply them to God. You cannot shape God to fit what you think you understand.

You do know what the biblical understanding of miracles, signs and wonders are, don’t you? Further, you do know that Paul said that evil comes with false miracles, signs and wonders, right?

I didn’t realize that Sid shared the same title as Jesus Christ. Ummm…. I don’t see that in Scripture.

The pit is defined in the Text as the place of evil.

  30. Any person who watches Sid Roth’s show must be in great need of psychological help!

How can people believe such stupidities???

  31. I used to think Sid was sincere and the real thing (and it was pretty wonderful to think so… so much supernatural outrageous stuff going on in the church), but there were some things that made me start to question him and his guest. Once when a person was supposed to be prophetically speaking out ovder the people i saw his eyes going back and forth as though he were reading it from a script. Another thing was some people I think they were John Paul Jackson and John kilpratric, made some prophecies about the coming year that didn’t happen, but they were back on the show the next year prophecying again… so I thought… “hey, if he’s inviting these people back whose prophecies weren’t fulfilled and treating them like prophets…. why does he do that?” So I just left viewing his site.. I reckon there are a few real poeple. I think Dr. Brown is for real, I’m sure some others to. Some peopel just are too far out there and they don’t seem sincere. Another thing that got me was the continual selling of this and that revelation… I mean, if this prophecy or teaching is so timely and so needed for people why don’t you make the price real low for the book or post it online somewhere else so the people who need it can learn about it. LIke lots of other sincere preachers do. LIke selling prophecies about the coming year’s disasters and finding them no where online (I looked up some prophets cuz I wanted to know what the 12 things were) for free didn’t seem like the real deal, but more a “prophetic” salesmanship game. Anyway, anyone in question, look into past archives see what the “prophets” say and then run your memory over that year’s events…. if they made any specifics (often times the prophecies are very vague) and they didn’t come to pass. Do you honestly think the prophets is from God or speaking of his own. IN the bible is says, if a prophet prophecies and it doesn’t come to pass, you don’t need to fear him, he spoke of his own.

  32. I’ved heard Kathie Walters and I’m very skeptical about her stories. But discounting all signs and wonders seems like an unscriptural position. The fact that satan will counterfit G-d’s signs and wonders with false ones doesn’t mean that we should reject the possibility of G-d performing real ones. 90% of the salvation experiences recorded in the Bible were associated with some type of miracle or the operation of a prophetic gift. This verse confirms the principle:

“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” (Mark 16:20)

    • Spencer, I would suggest you review that verse, miracles v signs, and NT rhetoric and do this all with a good lexicon.

  33. These verses clearly validate signs and miracles that G-d does to confirm the truth of the Gospel message, I don’t believe that He does these things for the entertainment of the believers but rather to impart faith to the unbeliever:

3 “Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” (Acts 14:3)

29 “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:29 & 30)

11 “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” ( John 14:11 & 12)

48 “So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”
49The royal official said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50Jesus said to him, “Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off.
51 “As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was living. (John 4:48-50)

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” (Galatians 3:5)

    • Signs do not equal miracles.

And, you may want to get a better keyboard. You seem to have replaced ‘o’ with – in God.

  34. Joel, you referred to the verse in Galations concerning anyone, even an angel preaching another gospel. What is this “other gospel” that Kathie Walters and Sid Roth heard from the angel which they said they saw? I am not sure if they mentioned what this angel said, this “perverted Gospel.”

  35. Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Jesus never condemned the need for signs. In fact Jesus said unless you see a sign you will not believe. Silly article. Misquoting scripture. The bible is for your heart not your mind. That is why kids can get this thing.
Thank you Father, Lord of heaven for hiding these things from the wise and understanding and revealing them to little children. Your cerebral interpretation of the Word of God hems you into the world.

The Kingdom of God is very different from the logic of the world.

    • Actually, that verse is not original. You need a better bible and bible teacher, it seems.

        • it just doesn’t fit in with your view. Do you think someone just made up that part? It seems you know very little about how the bible was created and how greek as well as Hebrew documents have been added to and compiled over time. Doesn’t change the Word of God or the Truth.

          • Umm….. Please tell me that you aren’t a KJVO type of person…. That would be the icing on this cake o crazy

          • No. Do you also judge people by the bible they read? You already judge by how they spell. You also judge people when they don’t agree with you. Your self-righteousness and selfishness needs to die before you can truly live to Christ. You cannot be a disciple of Jesus unless you first die to yourself.

          • So… you are judging and condemning me… for? And decrying what you think you are reading? Ummm….

          • not condemning. I love you and wish the fullness of God for you.

      • Hey Joel, your comment here made me wonder what bible you think people should be reading from. I would like to read that one.
Thanks ahead of time for your reply.

        • First, reading from any Scripture should be accompanied with study. I assume you think that one can simply read Scripture and then base doctrine and theology upon that, right?

      • Just did, and the Word didn’t change. Thank you Joel. I hope your heart outgrows your mind.

        • You need to pick up a better bible, studying textual criticism a bit. God never said not to think, which is what some fo these cults require.

          • I also didn’t say not to think. Again, your attempts at understanding seem futile. But there is always hope. Knowing scripture and knowing the word of God are two different things. The Pharisee knew scripture, but had no clue about the word of God. They missed the messiah right in front of their faces. They were men of the world, molding scripture to fit their world view. Reexamine yourself. Your responses are all coming from a selfish place of I’m right and your wrong.

          • Are you saying that the ‘word of God’ is Scripture or some mystical revelation which you have.

Joshua, you have yet to provide any thing to support yourself except a ‘i know’ mentality. Your discourse skills are very poor, to say the very least.

          • I Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.”
No need to talk about it, just live it and demonstrate it. May your eyes and heart be opened.
            Love you Joel!!!

          • That seems to be a universal answer to scriptures that don’t agree with you. Love you anyway.

          • Amazing how only you know the right use of scripture.. no one else… just you…. ummmm…. in other words, you don’t know much, but thanks for trying

  36. WoW! Do you tell God what He can and can not chose to do? Becareful in judging others. If God has called him he will remain. Don’t be like Saul who had to have a unexpected vist from the Lord on the road to Demarcus! But sometimes we need the Lord to rock our world. Are you also harassing Jesus? Could you be doing this? Has Jesus commissioned Sid Roth? Who has commissioned you?

    • In other words, you haven’t read your bible. No, Jesus didn’t commission Sid. No one did.

  37. I know you have problems with Sid Roth but check out what one of his guests, Jonathan Cahn, has to say about the verse Isaiah 9:10 and the connection to 911 as a harbinger of things to come and how this verse was used inappropriately by leaders after the World Trade Center attack.

  38. I just started seeing Sid Roth show , I don’t see any fault yet” but i’m not looking for it . He sure looks happy, All we have to do” is ask the lord if he was sent to us from from. We should trust in the lord with all our hearts.

  39. What about the signs that Jesus did do? There were signs that were done by the apostles. The.enemy uses counterfeit signs and wonders to.deceive. Testing of the spirits per first John implies distinction between things that are similar.

  40. I realize this post is a few years old but I still want to thank you for speaking out about Sid Roth. My mother is completely under the spell of this man and many others on TBN and whatever other religious networks there are. She sends a lot of money to Sid Roth because she feels he is specially blessed and quite frankly I feel she is being taken for a ride and her pocket book is being robbed by these frauds. She’s retired and living on a very limited income and I’m very worried about this. For the record, I am of the Reformed Jewish faith. My mother is a Pentecostal/Assembly of God Christian. Sholom!

    • ‘Anonymous'(if you are still available to post on this blog) your mom should be doing this in faith. It doesn’t concern what Sid does with it. you are not sure what your pastor does with the money you sow every single Sunday, but you are helping God in faith. so, that still counts because GOD only wants your heart to be positive. don’t misunderstand!!

        • That was if it wasn’t worth it, but we can see he is really helping.Joel, no matter who preaches the Gospel Jesus is head. I don’t think Sid preaches a gospel in which he is head. And if he preaches the Gospel ‘whoever is reborn shall live life to the fullest’ then that is really true and that was why Jesus came,so that we would live life to the fullest.

  41. Yes, signs, wonders, speaking in tongues and Jesus presence still happen and are here to stay. YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT ANGELS, they are messengers from and of God, not human agents. YOU READ YOUR BIBLE
Many Christians are sometimes gullible and I have seen sincere Christians having ‘guests’ who are furthering their own means. But I believe Sid, himself, loves Jesus and is a true follower of Jesus.

  42. I was just watching this program and some guy named Jeremy was on there and I heard a whisper ‘false prophet’. Shameful.

  43. It’s not religion I am dealing with here. Regardless who preached what, I have the full right to claim physical prosperity, spiritual prosperity and the like. We might come across some difficulties on the way but that builds up our faith. If I want wealth, I ask God and if it’s necessary I get it. Ask any thing you seek and it shall be given. God is Good and you are his son. How on earth are you poor when God is your father. Even if you go through poverty that is not who you are, because you yourself call God “father”, and God is not poor in any thing. You might come across poverty, but that is not who you are. watch and pray in faith so that what is written about you shall manifest itself.

          • Oh,…. tell me what you preach please? You really dont know what you are saying, do you? You just want to be the boss here,…… ridiculous. Just quote scripture and prove me wrong If I am telling lies. This time, I want it straight up, no beating around the bush. Prove me wrong if there is any thing wrong about what I said about the son of God. Tell me if you dont deserve good as a son of God.

  44. It is just a waste of time to make people like you understand metaphor. I dont even watch his show that often. I dont see Sid as a threat and he is no Jesus, but I do believe he is his son. Wasting this much time on such a silly subject is so silly by itself, more over you dont understand who false prophets are and what they preach. Sid is not preaching himself. There is no difference weather I or Sid make you accept Jesus. Jesus is Jesus. There is no difference between your hope in Christ and his. You are going to accept Jesus. He is not going to accept Jesus for you. Your heart is yours only. You are going to invite Jesus. Then it is all between you and Jesus, no matter who invited you to accept him. Do you get me now??

      • So, I’m the one who is blind huh? You are just being so doggy about it. Who cares, You yourself are the one who is gonna pay for the mess you are creating at the end of the day. I would like to see Sid responding to this blog and others like this one. I am not his disciple. As far as I am concerned, every body is just a disciple of Jesus. I already said that I am not doing this because I am his fan. I only like Jesus and his disciples like Paul,me,Sid,Benny Hin,Barnabas the apostle,Jimmy Swaggert and others. Bye

    • why do you even say such a thing? I actually am not afraid of getting lost already, but I actually am not the one playing dirty here, you are. If Sid is is false let God judge. That’s why Jesus said, “don’t judge so that….”. Bye,… gospel amateur.

  45. Your comment “unless Sid repents, he will spend time in hell as he is continuing to reject Christ”- I have not watched a single episope of ‘Supernatural’ where Sid has rejected Christ.

    • Because if you cannot see the false jesus sid preaches, then how am I supposed to know that you know the real Jesus?

  46. The Word says-to paraphrase “you will know them by their fruits” in almost every response to a comment in this blog, you are sarcastic, have no time for any other views but your own, attack the posters spelling or grammer, and everything else except respond to with actual facts.

  47. Once again,no real answers. But I have just noticed who owns your copyright- explains a lot. Latter day saints? Weirder than weird. I won’t expect any sort of response other than to be completely vague Again! Ps- still waiting for you to tell me where Sid rejects Christ.

  48. Once again, no real answers, just noticed who owns your copyright- latter day saints! Weirder than weird. You need more prayer than we imagined :) any ways, I don’t expect a reply to be anything other than your standard vague ‘I know more than you’ response.

    • Would you mind showing me where I copyrighted the LDS? Where I even claimed to be LDS? Come now, surely you can read better than that, right?

    • Shannon, perhaps you are unfamiliar with websites and the what not – as unfamiliar as you are with Scripture, no doubt – but we have spam filters. Your postings were kicked up there but I rescued what I could find.

  49. No? Didn’t think I’d get such a rapid response this time. Good day to you sir.

    • What response do you need except what I have already stated? Sid Roth, the one who misreads Scripture for his own financial gain? This is the guy you think knows what he is talking about?

  50. Actually, at the very bottom of this very page it says All content copyright. The church of Jesus Christ. Am I completely wrong to suugest the affiliation? Any way Joel,I’m done. Ps. Iv left a few hidden spelling mistakes for you to correct as you seem to enjoy to do.

  51. Again, how is that a relevant response? I’m begining to question everything about this blog. Very one sided. Not once have you directly responded to someone’s comment without trying to belittle or demean them.

  52. This is meant to be an open blog with the option to comment but you have made it clear to everyone reading this that you only value your own self righteous opinion and have argued with almost every person commenting to the point that they leave with stronger convictions about what they believe. You are a miguided FOOL ranting about anything you can regardless of who offend. It does not matter whether you have your theology degrees. The bible is infallible and the final word on it. My bible says signs and wonders will follow those who believe. I choose to believe, therefore signs and wonders will follow me. Refute that if you will,it won’t stop you getting to heaven if you have accepted Jesus as your savour. But i’ll be having a blast seeing heaven on Earth while I am still on this planet.

    • Actually, this is my blog. Mine. I pay for it. I write for it. Mine. <== Mine.

The bible is not infallible. The bible says nothing.

Signs and wonders are great, but they also follow those who are false (Thess.).

      No one goes to heaven.

Accepting Jesus as your savior is not in Scripture.

Everything else you said is stupid.

        • Brooke, it sounds like this is the best he can do. This is him. He has this blog that he actually has paid money for…to lure people into his conversation so he can argue with them & call them names. It makes him feel better about himself. Including my conversation, I’ve seen a few others here in which he tap-dances until he finally admits he doesn’t believe the Bible or anything having to do with it….then he calls the millionaire show host a “heretic.” He he he! Little does he know that HE would be named a heretic when the word was created….

Like I say….he’s doing the best he can. We should leave him alone. Bothering him is like teasing a black widow spider. Nothing profitable comes of it, except his ego becomes greater and greater.

          • psst… David.. I can actually see what you write… what you lie about.

            So… yeah… keep lying…

    • Thank you, my dear. I’ve been wondering wen these guys would stop. Seems they just enjoy calling attention to themselves at the expense of a minister of God’s reputation. Let them believe what they would. Salvation is a choice. But if truly accepted, it is a package that comprises all the freely given gifts of God that pertain to life and godliness.

  53. We are obviously reading completely different books. I’ll let you carry on believing what you feel you need to. I came here looking for a serious debate and am leaving wondering why I wasted my time posting at all. None of your arguments make any sense. I’ve had enough. I’m spent. I can’t carry on. A couple of hours of my life I will never get back.

    • You’ve said this before. Tell you what, you move one, send some more money to prosperity pimps, and I’ll see you on the other side.

  54. Actually, accepting Jesus is the ONLY way- Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14:6

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17 (NIV

    • Another lie?

Anyway, John 14.6 does not mean we accept Jesus. In fact, Jesus, in John says, we do not choose him, but he chooses us. Further, Election prevents any works by us, even believing that we can validate the death of Christ by our “acceptance.”

Inspired does not mean infallible. Even the author of 2 Tim. knew that – especially when he agued against Jewish myths.

Paul didn’t believe Leviticus was infallible and even chose to write his own words rather than what God had to say. Added to this is Jesus’s words that Moses was a weak-willed leader who put things into the law just to comfort some people.

  55. Are you proposing that regardless of whether we believe in the complete work of Christ at golgotha or not, we are redeemed?

  56. Right,I get you. And what about your earlier statement-no one goes to heaven? What is your view on that?

    • The idea of a physical heaven to go to after we die is not in Scripture and not really in Christian tradition for many centuries. N.T. Wright’s book, Surprised by Hope, may be of some help here.

We will participate in the New Creation, where God is on earth. If you rad the book of Revelation, at the end, do we go to heaven or does God come down here with heaven after everything is renewed?

  57. Depends whether I pass away before Jesus returns or not. If I do, I go to be where Jesus said,”I go to prepare a place for you”. If I die before His return, I will be absent from this body, and present with the Lord. At the end of revelation, He returns to reign on a new earth. I agree with you on that, but before then, I will be with my Jesus and the cloud of witnesses who have gone before me.

      • You are religious than spiritual. What can I say, YOU ARE SO LOST. Accept Jesus as your savior and start calling yourself “son of God”. I thought you were a believer in the crucifixion and PHYSICAL resurrection of Jesus. There is a lot to say. I wish I were there for you. Just being Jehovah’s witness is not enough, be Jehovah’s Son. Am outta this. It is not worthwhile AT ALL.

        • Jehovah is not a biblical word.

As I have have already stated, “accepting Jesus” is a platitude.

I never denied either the crucifixion or the physical resurrection. Seems like you can’t read very well.

          • No, your self-expression is vague. By the way, What church do you attend?

          • In other words, you ASSume.

I am United Methodist, although, in many ways, I am more conservative than many of my fellow UM’ers.

  58. be careful not to shoot yourself in the foot. How can you question Mr. Roth.? You should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe people shud question you as to what you see or don’t see?

  59. Reading this blog from the beginning to the end has successfully wasted my precious time. But in the end, I came to know one basic fact, and it is that you are not born again. I can say boldly that theologians mostly are the major pain in the body of Christ. The only thing they know to do is to twist the scripture to suit their interests and call attention to themselves.
Someone like you who fails to acknowledge the bible as the word of God is not to be listened to at all, not to talk of attempting discourse with. It seems quite unbelievable that someone who bases his arguments on the scriptures and ask for biblical proofs finds it hard to accept that these scriptures are God’s instructions unto us by the mouths of His prophets, teachers and other spokesmen.
Because you like the scriptures very much, I will advise you to read it by the Spirit of God (that’s if you know who that is and if He really abides in you). Why? The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
I’ve never seen a Sid Roth’s show but from the discourse so far, I have gathered that the motive for putting up this post is to stir up misgivings about Sid and other men of God like him, and also to mislead the young converts.
You need to give up that theological background of yours for a humble heart that is willing to learn, not of men, but of God.
I have prayed for you out of love but I hope your heart will be softened enough to receive that which God has provided for us in His son, Jesus.
I am a child of God and I live by the faith of Jesus Christ who loved me and gave Himself for me. I believe in Him and His word. I have a student of the scriptures and I believe that the Bible is the word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit…

    • So, you’ve read all 9000 posts? Really? All 9000 of them, huh?

Your ramblings are that of a fool, so it is rather below me to waste my time on them. However, let me point out just a few things.

First – The bible is not the Word of God. It never claims itself to be. The Word of God is Jesus. Scripture are holy writings containing various statements from God, but even Jesus said some of it was wrong.

Without theologians, you wouldn’t have Scripture, the language of God you use (although ignorantly), or the concept of letter v spirit.

I realize you are ignorant and self-righteous, but there is up for you.

  60. I believe Joel is probably right about Roth. I have to admit that when they get on t v, and start with all the stuff about some imaginary person who supposedly has some imaginary physical ailment, that is being healed as they speak, they don’t give any names or places. They just throw something out there that is going to be correct in many cases, so no one can check it. If they were to say ” hey Clark, you are now being healed of that cancer that you were diagnosed with last week,” I would be impressed. If I had been diagnosed with cancer, and healed. Unfortunately the weak minded fall for the usual slight of hand used by nearly all of the televangelists to get your hard earned money into their pockets.

  61. Weak minded people constantly get sucked into believing the lies produced in great quantities, by televangelists. The habit of throwing some imaginary ailment out there with no person’s names attached to them, and claiming that they were healed is ridiculous. Verbal slight of hand. I feel your pain Joel. Trying to be a light in the darkness is hard work and doesn’t endear one to those who follow blindly the Devil’s make believe prophets.

  62. Joel, I have family, church members, and close friends, that all believe the
obvious mis-interpretation of the scriptures, that have been handed down for
centuries, by unlearned and perhaps mentally deficient people. Scripture
says everything is open in his sight, when talking about the Word of God. It
is not refering to a book, but a divine person. The same divine person who
has been with God the Father since before the beginning of time.

Salvation is not earned by any act of any kind. Faith comes by hearing and
hearing comes by the Word of God ( Jesus) sending the preacher. The ability
to believe in Jesus, is a gift that is given by God the Father, to all those
whom He predestined to be his children. Ephesians says it plainly enough,
but apparently most do not want to believe that it is something that they
cannot take credit for. Romans the 9th chpt., says it openly, but again
people do not want to hear it.

I may shock you, but in fact, I believe that (god the word) has been who
mankind always had to deal with. The scriptures plainly say, that no man has
seen God at anytime, because he dwells in a light that no man can approach
unto. Jesus before he was Jesus, walked in the garden with Adam. Moses saw
God the Word on the mountain, and spoke to him face to face in the tent.

There is no power but that of God according to scripture. That being the
case, nothing can happen without God’s approval. He told Satan, ” thou
movest me against him without cause.” He was talking about Job at the time.
The scriptures plainly state, that God is all powerful, all knowing, and
everywhere. If you can take that literally, then God inhabits every molecule
of Creation. If that is the case, and I think it is, then if God no longer
inhabits anything, it ceases to exist. That may very well cause one to
question Hell as an active, eternal, punishment. According to Scripture, the
soul that sins will die. Not just once, but probably twice, and the last
time forever. The worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched, probably
means that there is no reprieve from total destruction, rather then torment
    being eternal.

In any case, God is in complete control, and most definitely not sitting
around waiting for some man to make up his mind. If one can make himself
believe or disbelieve in God or Jesus, then he can lay claim to earning his
salvation. If a man can do that, then he could also make himself believe
that there are 2 suns in the sky. Of course we both know that would be
delusional behavior, and to claim that faith is of our own doing, is no less
    delusional behavior.

Angels may appear to people at times. Just because none have appeared to me,
doesn’t mean they don’t appear to others. In my opinion, there are probably
very few televangelist, that aren’t just plain criminals. With that in mind,
I tend to disbelieve anything they say. The prosperity doctrine is a product
of the resident evil, that inhabits most of mankind. If one thinks in those
terms, then the richest people are the most righteous people also.

I don’t claim to have everything all sorted out, but one thing is clear to
me. God is in charge, and there isn’t any recourse outside of his will. John
3-16 is just a statement. ” Who-so-ever believes in Jesus will not perish.”
That is not a call to make yourself believe in Jesus, but just to let you
know that if you do believe in him and what he did for you, you will not
    perish.

Joel, I pray you God’s power to overcome the darkness that abounds in our
churches. Yet whatever God’s plan is, it will most definitely take place.
    Howard Clark

  63. “These signs shall follow those who believe: healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons in My name” because “God confirms His word with signs and wonders following.”

  64. I’ve become Leary of his guests only because I doubt that there are that many magical prophets from God. But I believe their can be that many false prophets. Be real careful. He sells books that tell u to do wierd things. U could be practicing witchcraft without knowing it. Better not play with your soul. Stick to bible and consult God and not the supernatural realm.

  65. I came across a vid of Sid Roth today, wanted to find out more about him, and ended up here. Joel, I thought you made some good points in your blog and considered reading more of your blogs until I saw some of the things you said in the comments and the way you responded to some of the comments. To me, your comments did not occur to me as ones belonging to a man who is filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefor, I will be moving on. You seem to have read a lot of Scriptures, but you may have missed 2 Timothy 2:23.

  66. I came to your blog , after watching a few minutes here and there of some of Sid Roth’s videos. I have been on the search for truth about a lot of things. I have been a Christian for my entire life, but a lover of Christ for a little over a year now. The end time topic has been one that has laid heavy on my heart , and so my journey began. I stumbled upon the Elijah List, as well as the many videos that Youtube supplies, each filled with their own interpretation of scripture. I will find one nugget of truth , or a lie that spurs me to dive into my bible and see what the Word of God inspires the Holy Spirit to confirm for me. I have taken to conducting research on the various prophets found in today’s world, and I always seem to come upon at least one blog or website that will claim ” so and so is false, and here is why”. I pray about what I read, and file it away , waiting for a confirmation through scripture. I believe that your intentions behind this blog were great. Your scripture references were dead on, and I would hope that you prayed about your message before you wrote it. I am not here to judge anybody, as your walk with God is the same as mine- it is a journey. I will say , however, that your replies to other people are somewhat disconcerting. I understand becoming angry or defensive to the point of lashing out, and I understand you trying to spur a fellow Christian to back up their position with scripture. I believe in your own way, you were trying to make the commenters’ angry enough to dive into their bibles to produce ” evidence”. I am just wondering if that approach is worth the stain on your blog? On the message that you feel so strongly about? The very truth you were attempting to portray was tainted by the crass and uncaring way you handled a opinion that differed from your own. There is a message to be made, but that message must always be carried out in love! If not in blatant love, at least in respect of a fellow human being. As a fellow human being , and sister in Christ, I lovingly say to you well done in your message, and your knowledge of scripture. Thank you for putting your message up for me to pray over. Please see my heart in this , and choose to respond in love, rather than in name calling or condemnation. God Bless you and your journey with Him :)

  67. Chanock, any particular reason for that verse? Anyway, you have not had enough of the this blog if you still believe the way that you do – unless you choose to remain blind, of course. No, He did not come to loosen the Law, but He fulfilled it – in that His sacrifice was the end of the Law. Unless, of course, you believe that we should continue following the animal sacrifices, the stoning of adulterous women and mouthy children. You know, that is in your precious Law as well.

My Jewish roots? You realize that there is an entire Christian Tree that grew from those roots, right? The Jews and the Gentiles are now one body, CH – you would have us believe otherwise. The Jews must come through the Church to be saved, for there is no salvation outside the Church.

I pray for the justice of all peoples – not just one geo-political state. And remember, even Paul said that there was an Israel, and then there was an Israel of God. You need to leave the physical one behind, and join the spiritual one.

Remember, God is our first love, not some geo-political entity, and a covenant that has since passed away.

  68. Blasphemy is irreverence toward holy personages, religious artifacts, customs, and beliefs. The Abrahamic religions condemn blasphemy vehemently. Some countries have laws to punish blasphemy, while others have laws to give recourse to those who are offended by blasphemy. …

Misconception: a mistaken belief, a wrong idea

So know this,, you are out of the character of Christ. If you don’t stop calling His miracles, signs, wonders and those who worship God in spirit and in truth liars, you will truly suffer from your own misconception. Please repent and get delivered from your demonic influences, possibly jealousy and lies; just seek God for the truth.

Why do you think you are the only one carrying the truth. Why don’t you know that God gives all of His people a level of spiritual discernment according to their relationship with Him or to the degree of whatever He desires; God is God. He rains on the just as well as the unjust according to the word of God.

It appears that you think that whoever does not agree with you is missing it with God. When did God give one person all wisdom and power? I thought this belonged to Him.

Note, in the Bible Blasphemy was committed by the teacher of the Law: “He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.” So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house. I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.” He said this because they were saying, “He has an evil spirit.”

So why are you trying to divide God’s people? Yes, you are right, God does give us the authority to judge others, but you are not judging, you are putting down another believer who has clearly demonstrated over the years his love for Christ. Just because a speaker comes on and says something that you don’t believe in does not mean that Sid Roth is not a believer; where is your evidence other than this incident. Please you must present much more compelling info in order for me to believe you. Right now, you are talking and “ain’t saying nothing.”

So why don’t you save yourself from further embarrassment and just let go and let God take it from here.

I love you with the love of Christ.

  69. You are totally ignorant. I am simply trying to warn you from your blasphemies and you don’t want to face it, as if it is your doctrine to totally ignore this man. It looks like you have personal problems with him.

  70. It is now 2011, I just read your blog, Do you believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit at work today?
    Your perspective is yours.
I believe in what he is doing.

  71. Hi Joel. Just started reading your blogs. Interesting! What is your escatological position?

  72. Unsettled Christianity(all of you)- specify your terms why you are calling him Anti-Christ(false prophet). I don’t see any thing faulty about his doctrines and any thing genuine about your criticisms . Let’s not twist the scriptures. Well, I now understand that you would never back down from keeping on doing this. It would be like beating a dead horse if I keep trying to turn you back. I’m not doing this because I’m his fan. I’m doing this because despite the things you say about him he is still the one who can really turn the Jews to Jesus. I think so many Jews come to Jesus because of him, so just for the sake of the Gospel(Jesus crucified) being preached let’s not waste our time on some thing unnecessary. BYE

  73. So, you have never missed an interpretation, an understanding and been corrected? Paul was followed by a messenger of Satan and fought by faith and the prayers of many like those in Philippi. I guess my desire is for all who minister for Christ to never have any trouble. We were not promised that.

  74. Go and have a look at his net worth.. its all about money.. same as benny hinn uses basic nlp

  75. derren Brown does the same. he doesnt have any supernatural powers he uses plain pshycology ,and thats what this fraud is doing too. Get back to studing your bible Jesus Himself said this wicked generation wants a sighn but they wount recieve one.. you are blinded instead by this blasthimy hipocrite

  76. Brother u see sid preaches Jesus crucified so u cannot say he is an anti Christ. he is preaching Jesus after he came to Jesus. The Anti christ is the who denies the father and the son u cannot say he is an anti Christ. because he preaches christ. jesus in one of the gospels said some thing about a man who used the name of jesus to do miracles and the disciples asked him to reject him or not and jesus said “any one who is with us is not against us”. but u are commiting the unpardonable sin that is blasphemy of the holy spirit cos u r saying that he does miracles with powers of satan. so many ministers come to the show every single day. and are u blocking the jews from coming to Jesus? because he always makes the shows burning for Jesus. he is preaching Jesus crucified like Paul. he is doin miracles like Paul. he is not preaching another Jesus. the spirit of the anti Christ denies Jesus son ship. Jesus was talking about “prophets” like Mohammad who deny the son ship. John told us how to recognize false prophets and that is to analyze the teachings which come afterwards. if the teaching denies the father and the son it is not from God but the spirit that accepts the father and the son is from God. u better realize what u r doin!!!! I will be wating for what u say

  77. Just dont rush to do critics!!! u will finally end up being against jesus. Just watch the debate between the christian scholar and the jewish scholar on his show and believe how much he is given to christ. he made an out standing siding to jesus.

  78. Antichrist is not “the” false prophet. An antichrist believes Christ has not come in the flesh. As far as I know, Sid believes this. Even Atheists, many of them, believe this. A false prophet is someone like Sid who preaches false things, who collects money for selling false things, and the like.

  79. That was my point. Thanks anyway, and just let’s spend most of our time on preaching the Gospel. I was just afraid that some Jews or Muslims who by only watching his show want to turn to Jesus might frustrate because of such posts. I understand you do this because you want to settle things. please, specially at this time let’s keep things together and let’s not fight each other. you know the hard times are at the horizon. LOVE YA

  80. I would hate to think anyone would switch religions because of Sid’s false Je$u$. Better they stay a Muslim than convert to Sid’s false Gospel.

  81. There is no salvation outside of Jesus. Where does the Bible say there is salvation in “the Church??”

  82. Again, where does the Bible say there is salvation in “the Church??” I can quote a specific scripture: “…and Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me.’ “

  83. And, the body of Christ is the Church.

The head of the Church is Jesus.

Tell me, David – is a Muslim saved as a Muslim?

  84. Again, where does the Bible say there is salvation in “the Church??”

I can answer that with specific scripture: “…and Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me.’ “

    Can you?

  85. Again, the bible says nothing. It doesn’t talk. It is a collection of books recognized by the Church as faithful to Christian tradition. Further, it is interpreted, and only rightly, inside Christian Tradition

As far as proof-texting, and that is a dangerous game, I point to John 20.23 and, of course, Ephesians for the culpability of the Church in salvation.

    You aren’t answering my questions.

  86. So you are coming up with the idea with an idea outside of scripture or DEDUCTED from scripture rather than inductive interpretation of the Word. Your comments have finally shown me who you were. That’s what I was looking for. So you are saying scripture is not the Word of God.

Thanks. I have all the information I need. :)

  87. First, Scripture is not the Word of God. Jesus is.

Scripture, as Scripture contains the words of God, but also the words of humans.

Second, I played your game of proof-texting. And yet, you can’t even answer my questions. Umm…

    Coward.

  88. You have already admitted that something you believe is not the Bible. I asked a question, I got my answer. I was curious. Your feelings are hurt so you resort to name-calling. “Culpability??” What in the world are you talking about? What does forgiving others have to do with it? Again, where. I have answered your questions. God bless. I would like to know what kind of church you attend, but I do not want to further this conversation. It would not profit me & it would only provoke you to more name-calling.

    God bless.

  89. David,

Nothing you’ve said is in the bible. Further, your heretical approach to saying a piece of paper is the Son of God is astounding.

I’ve asked several questions. I shouldn’t have to point everyone out to you.

  90. Joel, I have been saying this for years, and I get the same response that you get.

  91. A Christian who has willful sin in his life that he has not repented of at the tie of his death, goes to hell. “But if the righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and abominations like those that the sinner has done, all the righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered to him, but in the iniquity which he has committed and int he sins that he has sinned, in them shall he die.” Isaiah 18: 24
